They crossed the Thames at Gravesend earlier.

    I’m glad I wasn’t imagining it 🙂
Although I’m sure it gave more info than is now available.

Alan, all the info you need is on the website, as I shared with you earlier.

Yes I have seen the info on the BBMF website, but there used to be a link on there (or it may have been somewhere else)
that took you to a page that looked like an excel spreadsheet. With really detailed information, such as routes the various
aircraft were taking, waypoint times etc. Maybe it wasn’t meant for public viewing, and was locked away ?

I’m not sure what additional info you require Alan. The BBMF schedule gives take-off and landing times, display/flypast slot times and destination airfields for each sortie. This includes refuelling stops.
    .

They used to give a lot more detailed information, than is available now.

I don’t see why Sally B would fly into Southend this Saturday? She’s not due to fly to or display at any airshows that day.

My thoughts too, I’m only the messenger though.

The BBMF don’t give as much info as they used to, unless I’m looking in the wrong place.
They used to do something akin to an Excel sheet, where they gave detailed info on each aircrafts movements.
That doesn’t seem to be available any more. They also don’t show refuelling stops.

I can only guess, and it is only a guess. That after they display at Eastbourne on Saturday, they are going to Southend to
refuel before going off to display somewhere else, before returning to Biggin Hill.

You going to Eastbourne Charlie ? Me and my other half plan on driving to Tonbridge and getting the train on Saturday.
No doubt along with 200,000 other people 🙂

Someone who works at the airport has just taken a phone call, to the effect that the BBMF+1,
plus Dakota, and “possibly” the Sally-B. Will be flying into Southend at approx 4:30pm on Saturday.

The situation of what is doing what and where, seems to be very fluid at the moment.
They seem to be making it up as they go along. So take nothing as gospel.

    Where does it say that?

Ok, I should have put a question mark on the end.

I hardly think that the powers that be, will pass up the opportunity of a photo shoot of three iconic Avro aircraft flying together.

Lots of great videos to be seen, and lots more over the coming weeks.
I know the aircrews are very experienced, but it does worry me when I see them flying that close together.

    Not spotted but heard.
Tornado GR4 heading south at 5:15pm, just off the Essex coast. RafAir708.
    For channel crossing.

That does often seem to be the case doesn’t it ? Or it could be that because they are famous, those are the ones we hear about.
Perhaps it’s the pressure of having to live up to their reputation, always having to improve on their last performance ?

They were originally booked to come into Southend (so I am reliably told), but that might have caused all sorts of problems.
Especially with ATC trying to decide who has priority to land, when there are Eazyjet airbuses approaching.
Then Bournemouth was mentioned, now they have ended up at Biggin Hill.

I wonder if Vera (for want of a better name) will have a member of the BBMF on board during airshows ?
