    It’s just too easy to pick holes in any Daily Mail story.
    As far as being a bomber is concerned, I suppose you could refer to a depth charge as being a bomb ?

    How about Bruntingthorpe ?

    Ok it’s not technically a cold war jet, although they were around during the cold war.

    Paint it up in a camouflage scheme, and off you go.

    The big plus point, they make lots of NOISE 🙂

    Great shame that such icons of a war that cost millions of lives all over the world should end up on a commercial selling site, for a greedy profit.

    I can’t comment on that, not knowing it’s history. Things like this should go on public display in a museum, so others can appreciate it.
    Not into a private collection.

    Sounds like being an interesting talk. I wish I lived closer.

    I’m sure the top RAF brass would like a bomber, but as to whether we actually need one, that’s another matter.
    The Navy bods would no doubt say that they can handle the blowing up of chosen targets.

    Though for some obscure reason, probably liability-related, the powers that be discourage this.

    Maybe (as you say) if the info is incorrect and there is an accident, it leaves them wide open ?

    Just to add: I know some pilots, both commercial and private, use 123.450Mhz as an air to air comms link, although
    I believe this is unofficial, and no doubt breaking the laws of aviation ?

    It was probably an event similar to that, when my maternal Grandfather picked up a batch of wooden propellers.
