Just a confirmation of something which was decided a while back. 😡

The writing was on the wall when the RAF cut right back on participating aircraft at airshows.

It probably happens more often than air crews or airlines like to admit.
An Air Ferry crew of a DC-4 operating out of Manston back in the 60’s
both fell asleep at the controls.
There are stricter controls on breaks now though.

I read another story today:

New Spitfires flown up to an airfield callled Balado Bridge in Scotland.
On arrival the instruments were removed and the aircraft pushed into a disused quarry and burnt.

One would have to ask “Why ?”, as they would at least have had a scrap value.

They did break up aircraft there, mostly Fleet Air Arm planes I believe.
