The kings new clothes comes to mind.
You have to be of a certain intelligence to understand what it represents.

Will EasyJet be operating this service (along with some of the others), only
during the summer months ?
I would guess that even during the summer there wouldn’t be a fantastic
demand for midweek flights to the Channel Islands ?
It would be interesting to know how many hours the 727 has done ?
Thx. Thought it could have something to do with airflow into the fan duct and generating lift. F35B looks odd gathering speed and taking off with this big air-brake like thing stuck up there.
I wonder why they didn’t hinge it at the front, rather than the rear ?
There’s no doubt an obvious answer, but it looks like an accident waiting to
happen.
Makes me think of the Lightning, where I believe the nose wheel wouldn’t
retract once the aircraft exceeded 250kts ?
Lots of memories, mostly going back to the late 50s, early 60’s. On trips out with mum & dad.
Often driving past Debden and seeing the gate guardians. Spitfire ?
Camping in Pembrokeshire and watching the Gannets from Brawdy droning over.
Going out for a walk on a Sunday morning whilst camping. There must have been about 20 of us. Coming to a closed gate at the back of Alconbury, and seeing Voodoos lined up. Along with USAF police who thought we were a bunch of peace activists. 🙂
Paying 2 shillings to get into an airshow, which included a flying schedule. On one of my first trips out after getting my driving licence.
Nostalgia isn’t what it used to be.

Indeed, I always found him rather a strange person, and wasn’t a great fan.
He did a lot of fantastic charity work though, even if he was the ultimate
self-publicist, of his time. My earliest recollection is listening to him on Radio
Luxembourg, as a youngster.

I had it in my head that the BBMF don’t do filming assignments due to their display obligations and/or engine/airframe hours allowed to be flown per annum. I could be wrong, of course.
I’m sure that large sums of money could persuade them to help.
Also, I wonder who has a spare hangar they could blow up ?
