No way
No adequate volume in belly inlet for reinforced gear even with dual wheel, and the weight will be no longer adequate for the carrier even if the dual-wheeled gear would be fitted.

So it’s something which would have needed to be incorporated into the original design.
Is this one of the reasons that the French went with the Rafale, as they wanted something they could operate from a carrier ?

I’m sure that I saw an article recently where they are putting a tide operated
turbine on the sea bed somewhere as an experiment.
They have to be more efficient than wind turbines, or so I would have thought.

I think they do a 12v version, for use when camping or caravaning next to a
river.

There was a chap on a phone in programme last year, talking about wind
farms, mainly the ones off the Dutch coast.
He claimed that they were pretty inefficient, and that if they break down,
were not economical to repair. How true that is I don’t know.

I don’t see why we cant use tidal flow to operate turbines. Even to the extent
of having power stations built along the lines of the old tide mills.

Sad to see, in the light of today’s views on conservation, but back then
nobody seems to have worried.
It would have cost a fortune even in those days, to conserve, and by now
would have probably been scrapped anyway.

The timber would now would be worth a fortune. Assuming most of it was
oak

Good point and also a time to remind contributers to this forum OPSEC and PERSEC should always be considered when posting.

I would hardly think that something which happened 30yrs ago, is sensitive
information. Especially when in certain circles, it’s apparently an open secret.
There’s far more “sensitive” material available elsewhere on this forum, and
indeed on the Internet in general.

I mean, we’re not talking Wikipedia here, or going behind the scenes at Menwith Hill.
