Maybe Tony, but I don’t really consider any of the pictures I take, to be of the quality anyone would want to publish.
If anyone does want any they just have to ask, and all I ask for is an acknowledgement. As has just happened with
a couple of Catalina pictures I took recently. I don’t upload all of my pictures to Photobucket anyway. Thanks for advice though 🙂
I shall still use Photobucket to host pictures, as it’s handy to be able to inflict slideshows (or stories) on friends.
Rather than sending big emails.
Lovely pictures. It’s one of those aircraft that most of us see so much, we maybe take it for granted ?
Looking lovely 🙂
I wonder if anyone else noticed the name of one of the RAF pilots MIA, when they were at the National Archives ?
Paul Klipsch, whose Spitfire was the subject of a Time Team dig in France. I imagine one of the researchers must
have made a point of finding the reference ?
Thanks for the info .
Thanks for the additional information.
Would that have been a Stirling, with a six man crew ?
I was wandering around the same cemetery today and came upon another headstone with an RAF connection.
I was actually looking to get some wildlife shots.
It’s another interesting one, as searches on the CWGC site came up blank. The RAF role of honour site says he was with 7 Sqdn and is buried in
Sage War cemetery, Germany, So this must be just an inscription added by his family to remember him
The only other info I can find is that he was (probably) at RAF Oakington flying Stirlings.
Very nice, how complete is it ?
Nothing historic, but a couple of F-15s came low over Betws-y-Coed yesterday, and a Chinook heading west over Llangollen at about 7:30pm.
I should also imagine they need some time on the Dakota before they are allowed to fly the Lancaster again ?
I’m sure someone knows the regs on staying current on a type ?
Ooooooo….Keep an eye out for a BBMF mini bus 🙂
When I was driving to Duxford on Tuesday on the A505. Just before I got to the M11, I noticed two fields full of poppies (south side of A505). They would have made a great
photograph, but I couldn’t stop because of the traffic. I wonder if one of our resident photographers comes in from that direction ?
Great pictures. I hope that when the time comes for her to fly back to Conningsby, there is an appropriate escort of Spitfires/Hurricanes ?
