They were joined by EJ for a three Spitfire formation, but not close enough for a decent photo

    You are apparently correct 🙂
He was there helping to make a documentary to do with “Sally-B”, for the Discovery Channel

My earliest memory of a Whirlwind was back in about 1961. Coming back from a boat trip around Ramsey Island in S.Wales.
One came right over our small boat, very low, with the crew giving us a wave. From Brawdy I imagine ?

I assume that nobody is still current to fly the Lancaster ?
I take it that when it comes for a test flight, the BBMF crew will come down from Conningsby, having first done a couple of flights in the Dakota ?

Unless flying the Blenheim qualifies ? 🙂

I agree. In times of crisis and danger, don’t panic, take a video.

I wonder how many airfields in the UK the above would be allowed to take place ?
    Well done to them……

I also wonder who will be the first to point out the dangers of amateurs being willing to help ?

As Archer’s link says………At some point in time it was converted to aerial firefighter by Field Aviation for Avalon Aviation. It was even deployed as far as Chile to perform this task !

I gave all of my old magazines to the people at Stow Maries. I hope they didn’t get chucked out when they
    made big changes there.

I assume the BBMF is funded through the defence budget ?

Although it’s worth every penny, I dread to think how much this work has cost.
