thought I had seen the top somewhere, its a Hot Water Tank Expansion vessel of some kind,
They are used to presurise hot water / heating systems and pressure relief.
great creation, love it.
They are made of a thinner guage of metal, and usually have a raised seam.
As well as having a 1/2″ male thread on the outlet.
I agree about the Four Lions, very good film.
Watched The Imitation Game tonight. A lot better than I expected.

I put BBC1 on this morning and caught the tail end of an obituary programme for 2015.
Quite a few who I didn’t realize had left us, and quite a few who I thought had died years ago.

Dakar rally starts 3rd January with a multitude of helicopters, spills and scenery. This always seems to produce a big yawn from the Forum. Why is this?
Maybe as unless there is a major incident, it gets virtually zero coverage on mainstream TV.
Rather like the Monte Carlo Rally. That used to be a major event, now it barely gets a mention.
My posts keep bouncing.
What they said :eagerness::very_drunk::stupid:
Have a good one everybody :very_drunk:
Nice pictures in the sunshine.
You still haven’t explained how you expect the organisers to guarantee the flying? Perhaps by erecting a giant umbrella and windbreak around the airfield and surrounding area, so they have an ‘indoors if wet’ option?
Even if the Friday has wall to wall sunshine, there is no absolute guarantee of seeing anything fly.
Probable but not certain.
Given that in 2015 Flying Legends was £34.50 (?) and IWM Duxford is £27.50 let’s split the difference and say Duxford charge you an extra £3.50 to get in on the Friday…
…would that be asking too much since you’re clearly expecting to see more?
I’m not actually advocating this…..just wanted some ‘perspective’ on your comments above.
If there were some guaranteed flying, maybe a little extra might be acceptable. It’s not guaranteed though, and there
would be nothing else to warrant the extra cost.
I really don’t think I have anything else to say on this 🙂
Looking forward to it, a great programme !!
Surely one of the TV highlights of the year.
I have no axe to grind as to whether they have legends as pre booked or not. Or any other of the airshows at Duxford
come to that, as it doesn’t affect me personally.
I consider my wife and I already spend enough throughout the year at Duxford. Attending airshow weekends is as far as I
know, not a pre-requisite of being an aircraft enthusiast.
When I spoke to TFC some ten years back their income from Legends at that time nearly covered their annual insurance costs and nothing more.
Moggy
Don’t they get anything from the IWM ?
When some years ago I enquired why there is an entry fee at Duxford, while other museums were free. I was told it was
because there were private companies operating there. Which I assume included TFC ? I took this as meaning that they
received a percentage of the entry fee, in return for having their hangars open to the public ?
If their insurance costs are “nearly” met over one weekend, that doesn’t sound bad to me.
