When BA will take me direct from my local airport to visit my mother who now lives in Italy for the £15 return all in that RYR charge me, then I’ll quite happily go and sit with the Mail and Express readers on BA…until then I’ll take my Times and FT onto the RYR flight.

I really do believe that the days of the £15 return are behind us. Isn’t it a £5 credit card charge per person per leg these days? That takes you straight up to £10… plus the “check in” charge, plus the luggage charges… plus the attitude…

We’re all talking about it, as will be people on other forums… so it’s worked. It’s kept the spotlight on Ryanair that little bit longer…

Its a shame that Scumbag O’Riley stoops this low for a publicity stunt… Mind you, what do you expect from an airline that many carries Sun-reading chavs? O’Riley’s sense of humour probably appeals mostly to that section of the population, which are the main target for his airline.

possibly, but i suspect many of them are quite chunky! 😮

It’s just to get them into The Sun!

The thing is that one of these days they are just going to take it too far

    …fingers crossed…

If I remember correctly, didn’t they sponsor Sky News Weather until a few years ago…

You never know… Qatar might go the same way 🙂

    What’s the significance of O’Riley…

Is it a play on words, or is it just people getting his name wrong???

The AVP isn’t actually where that map says it is, is it?

The Hilton London Stansted Airport hotel offers onsite car parking. Charges are as follows:-

    First hour – Free; 1-2 hours – £3.00; 2-3 hours – £4.50; 3-4 hours – £6.00; 4-6 hours – £7.50; 6-8 hours – £10.00; 8-10 hours – £12.50; 10-12 hours – £13.50; 12-24 hours – £25.00.

Overnight charge for hotel residents between 4pm and 8am is £8.00. Lost Tickets are charged at £60.00

    Great! thanks!

Not bad price actually, since I’m unlikely to want to stay for more than 3 or 4 hours! The only reason I ask is that it’s right next to the Runway 05 threshold and there’s no on-street parking nearby!

    From the Guardian Article:

She added: “It’s very, very sad. We have been here 46 years and this has never happened before.

Very useful! Why should it have happened before? My grandma has lived where she lives for 60 years and she never mentioned a plane crashing in the nearby forest!

There’s nothing spectacular about the area which might make it a candidate for a crash site!

Looks like you made a very good job of pretty iffy weather! I hate when it clouds over just as I’m arriving!

By the way… do you know the story behind the Sata aircraft? Is it operating for TAP I wonder, because they sent a PGA F100 the other week??

You sure you’re not mistaking Ryanair for Eirjet?!

One arguement is that it could have happened to anybody…

But it didn’t happen to anybody, it happened to Ryanair. And I don’t doubt that had this crew been fully prepared they wouldn’t have had this problem.

If CAG is such a dangerous airport, as many on pprune seem to be suggesting, then why do Ryanair fly there? And if it is so notoriously bad, the pilots really should be on their guard!

I don’t think the precedent stands for much. If a Ryanair aircraft took off without flaps, we certainly wouldn’t say “oh, it’s ok, Spanair did it first”.

Looking on the bright side, at least they got the right airport this time

I’m not too concerned about this really… and don’t think that anyone should be…

Regardless of the price increase, I still think it still represents excellent value for money. It could be argued that before the price rise it was loss makingly cheap…

When I go to Luton, it costs me £9 to park for an hour and a half at the terminal!

At Gatwick, if you want to spend the day photographing 26R arrivals and park at the terminal, you can expect to spend a similar amount.

If one of the London airports introduced a facility charging £5 for the day to bring the car, and if the view was as good as the AVP, I’d quite happily pay it!

    Just my $0.02

    Andrew
