Unfortunately didn’t keep logs of numbers, somewhere we have a newspaper cutting in a scrap book relating to these Lincolns, will dig it out when I take me mum back to Notty tomorrow.

For the serious keen types, HMS Victorious, Portsmouth, 21/8/58 and Britains last battleship HMS Vanguard, the sea was so rough that everyone was throwing up on the harbour trip that day.
Anyone fancy some steam loco pics?

Hucknall, 22/5/61, apart from the shot of the Lightning, Embassader and Javelin which were taken during the school holidays, the spitfire should be there somewhere.

Hehehehehe, What’s yellow and looks good in a banjo shop?

    A JCB!

Actually, those same jokes get told about accordians and bagpipes!

The Ozarks are good value. I have an Ozark resonator and Dave Carroll, from Stentor, is an old friend and DGB (Dead Good Bloke) and it is he who specs all the Ozark stuff.

Hate to tell you, we have an accordion as well, dying to get my hands on a set of bagpipes.

Cooking breakfast at Kelling Heath campsite, Norfolk, about 20 F-15’s low and fast, going supersonic as they head out to sea, then start climbing to intercept an in bound squadron of equally supersonic B1’s, high speed vapour trails all over the sky, breakfast burnt.
Campsite near Cawton, cooking breakfast, Su-22 escorted by several Jaguars nearly removes tree tops, breakfast burnt.
This summer, spitfire and hurricane have a close look at the village, my missus nearly drives into pond and they just clear the roof of my neighbours house, barbecue burnt.
Village fete, a few years ago, standing on our scout death slide on the cricket pitch and seeing BBMF spitfire, hurricane and lancaster heading straight towards us from the Bardfield direction, only lower than us and just clearing the trees to be followed by a turn and break that left the entire population of the village applauding, no one knew it had been previously arranged.
Snow here is pretty cool this morning, my missus having trouble getting to the stables.

Cheers for that everyone, obviously missed that thread first time round, if it was flying around the M25/M11 intersection, then it must be huge as Little Dunmow is a long way from there.
It is interesting how far you can actually see things in flight, I used to live in a farm cottage next to Wethersfield base, quite high up. One day I was able to watch a/c performing at Mildenhall airshow, with a pair of binoculars admittedly, however you could clearly see the Red Arrows with the naked eye, mind you, I had the programme from going the day before so I knew the running order.
A few years ago one of the F-15 pilots famously flew what was known as the Golden Circle over the base, a perfect circular vapour trail at sunset, I could quite clearly see this from Great Dunmow and had it in sight all the way home, it was visible all over East Anglia apparently.
I also used to live in another part of the village with a stunning view to the North, estimating the height and speed of high flying jets I reckon you could see them until they were 150 miles away at least.

Try Googling, theres some interesting info on there.
I presume that you must be in the prison service or are some of the properties now privately owned, I assume that you are aware of one of Highpoints most notorious inmates, the late Myra Hindley, we can see the lights of the prison on the road from here to Steeple Bumpstead and it always made me shudder to think she was so close.
If you want to explore an interesting place, go up the track from Barnardiston towards the old RDF tower site, there’s some strange old places up there.
    Welcome to the Forum.
