It’s a bit murky down here, I’ve already witnessed a light a/c on finals for Rayne looking a bit uncomfortable, I wouldn’t blame them if they put off the flight till it brightens up a bit, on the other hand, 30 miles between here and DX can make a lot of difference sometimes.

I’m surprised that no-one has mentioned the Channel 4 programme on saturday night when Justin Lee Collins attempted to get as many of the original members of Star Trek back together again one more time.
I thought it was absolutely brilliant, as it won’t have been shown on Australian TV, you can watch it again on the CH4 replay website Steve, or any of you who missed it can, it’s really worth watching.
It was great to see some of the old characters again, I thought that Walter Koenig ( Chekov ) was a really great bloke in particular.
I really don’t know how Collins has the nerve to approach these people in the way that he does, he even managed to get that famous ‘interracial kiss’ out of Uhura. The meeting with Leonard Nimoy was a little more formal, but at least he agreed to do it, in his own house as well, and he came across as a nice bloke, I now know where the Vulcan finger sign comes from, and did you know he keeps his Spock ears in a glass case.
Just one sad note, Shatners response was to set the dogs on Collins, it didn’t do Kirk any favours.
I won’t say anymore, just watch it, you’ll enjoy it if you are a Trekkie fan.

In my simplistic view of things, I’ve seen the wartime footage of crowds of civilians, hero worshiping Hitler on his drives through Berlin following Nazi victories, were they so innocent then, during their good times.
My mother made mosquito nets and parachutes for the troops, that made her part of the war effort, had she been killed in an air raid, she would have been classed as an innocent civilian, which she clearly wasn’t, but the propoganda machine would have made a meal of it. No doubt many of those ‘innocent’ victims in Germany did the same sort of work.
The war effort had spread out to all forms of so called civilian society on both sides of the divide, everyone was a target, thats the way it was, Harris had got it right, how those protestors could even be there was thanks to his efforts and the bomber crews personal sacrifices, the ignorant scumbags should be ashamed of themselves.

Ivan, your comment regarding the C-117 flying in sent shivers down my spine too, your pictures are a tribute to the 4 poor lads that died today, I’m glad that your nephew is away from it all at the moment, he has my greatest respect.

I was initially put off by the fact that it was a firm of solicitors that owned the property, but they seemed keen to sort the problem out peacefully.
I have a problem with moles in my garden, solution, flush dog s##t down their tunnels, it works every time, I’m sure that Badgers would feel uncomfortable with the same solution, a bit of dog cr@p over their area and they would think twice about wrecking the lawn.

Real Badgers.
I think that they are probably more afraid of the evil farmers and DEFRA that want to gas these lovely, gentle creatures out of existance because they can’t find another excuse for the spread of bovine TB.
Ever sat quietly next to a Badger sett at night and have them wander all around you and sniff you arms and play with their cubs a few feet away, it’s one of lifes unforgetable experiences, It’s made me very emotional and tearful to think about that situation I found myself in once, but who needs them, say the powers that be.
Love your local badgers, if you have them, have you ever seen one, apart from roadkill, Mr Badger, or do you live in a computer driven world of assumed reality.
