Newark’s Shack, middle of last year.
My ugly mug attatched to a pint.
MH434 in the civil scheme is one of my favourites too.
I’ve got a plan around here somewhere for an R/C one. That would be different.
Looking through the Putnam British Civil, etc. last night and it said there was only one York left, at Skyfame. Which one didn’t he know about? Or, where was it hiding?

I have to visit the Red Lion anyway.
That should make at least three of you. Moggy will use anything as an excuse to visit the Red Lion.
So would I if I lived nearer.
BTW, Kev, another 2 for Cosford.
Kev, I think you’ve just stitched yoursel up.:)
For the uninitiated, note the number of exhaust ports on the MC.72…
What accentuates the size to me is the relative size of the cockpit canopy to the rest of the airframe. Almost looks like one of those scaled down “replicas”.
How come I can put cockpit but not D1ck?
It’s similar, but I don’t remember a butterfly tail and it seemed more obviously Hunter-ish.
Wombat, I think you’re right about the P1110. I did remember the number for a month or so, but it’s gone now. Old age, I suspect.
Re the 1000km/h plan. IIRC, a Meatbox took the world speed record at 616mph, which is just short of 990km/h. I’m sure it was a later Meteor, but it still wasn’t much more aerodynamic than a barn door. I think with decent engines, or better materials, the 262 is likely to have beaten that.
Good point, you’d think the last thing they would want was high-viz black.
Bunch of smart-****. 🙂
If they’d been efficient, we wouldn’t be having this discussion today.
Just had a quick glance at Luft46 and can’t see either of them.
We weren’t dreaming, Steve, were we?
I couldn’t get over how small it was. A lot of engine for not much aeroplane.
I gather listed building demolition (unless Grade 1) depends on who you know. There’s a Grade 2 listed building, an old manor, about to be demolished in Chesterfield.
Backhanders and devious behaviour would be illegal of course.
Next generation compared to the Meteor and P-80.
At the forum meet at Duxford in October I was looking through a post-war report on German aviation technology. There was an outline drawing of a Messerschmiit P11??, or similar, which even at second glance was a Hunter.
