Just tried again to view the page and given up.
My 56k connection, through Le Freeserve, will download about 10 Mb an hour on an average day. By my Mark 1 calculator (fingers) that page is about 1.1/2 Mb. Makes it about 8 minutes or so, according to my fingers anyway.
I’ll try again sometime and go to the pub while I’m waiting 🙂
BT are finally going to put broadband in around here in June.
Now to find an ISP that doesn’t charge for what I don’t want, being a cheapskate.
Me too. I’m afraid I had to give up. Looked like it was going to take a week or two to load.
Found a bit more out. It was the first real holiday myself and my lady had together so we wrote everything down to remind us.
It was a Super Constellatiion and it was actually at Kirkop. We were there on 28/09/88 when it was a bar and restaurant. Mine host was George who owned a quarter of it. He said they wanted to move it to Takali but I don’t think that was ever really feasible. We tried to go back several more times but never found it open again.
We don’t remember any Dakotas but there were certainly several Caribous about.
Although we both want to, we’ve never been back to Malta since. Partly financial reasons, partly too many cats and partly because my passport’s run out. I haven’t renewed it yet as they’ve got it into their minds that I’m European.
Aren’t Imperial Aviation Group the people that were going to buy a WW2 airfield and turn it into a timewarp?
Collapsed a while later with allegations of impropriety (allegedly).
You may wish you hadn’t asked this.
SLRs: Olympus OM10, OM20, OM40, OM-1N, 3 x OM-2N, OM-2, Winder 2, 28mm, 2 different 35/70mm, 50mm, 135mm, 75/250mm and 2x converter.
Ordinary 35mm: Olympus Trip 35, mju zoom, mju II.
Digital: Olympus C300 Zoom.
Told you.
As far as I understand it, with a digital “snapshot” type camera, 3x optical zoom is equivalent to around 35mm – 110mm or so.
Forget digital zoom. Unless you’ve got some huge number of megapixels it’s a waste of time and you can always do it on a PC anyway.
If I’m wrong I’d be delighted if any digi experts could put me right.

Clinton did have the advantage of a brain, of course.
Never really considered it before, but I suspect the consensus is right and it’s the leadership, and Bush in particular, we don’t like.
Conversely, nearly 50 million Americans didn’t notice that Bush was an idiot and voted for him.

See Maltese Connie thread on Flypast forum.
Anybody recognises me from that they’ll do well, it was September 1988.

Although I don’t actually know, I assume the Cosford Comet 2 is the only survivor.
Reading between the lines, do I gather the Cosford principle is “we haven’t looked after it, lets find something to replace it.”
Shouldn’t it be “we’ve been entrusted with this aircraft and it’s our responsibility to look after it for future generations”.
Just a quick word or two to Bhoy.
Mainwaring is pronounced Mannering,
or, if you prefer,
Mannering is spelt Mainwaring.
The Borg, yes I like that!
They can fill that b***y tunnel in, as well.

PhantomII, yes it was.
I still find it amusing. Gentle comedy never seems to go out of fashion.
My Grandad hated it. He’d been in the Home Guard and considered it insulting. Good grief, that shows how old some of them are, he died in 1971!
