Anyone know if the “Promotional” video that’s shown on the Brooklands Concorde Experience available anywhere, a great few minutes of movie, and almost a tear jerker for anyone.
Nearest I’ve found is this which someone’s recorded and put on Youtube.
Music – Queen of course.

Nice shots, well done.
Went there in 2000, the place reminded me of the moon pictures with blue sky 🙂
Is there any GA there at all, I only remember the International Airport and two settlements on the whole island, Corralejo up top, full of Brits and Moro Jabel down the bottom, full of Germans.
Great place to explore if you hire a Jeep though. 🙂
Done & Shared.
Well done guys.
Harvest Air
I’m sure many remember the Harvest Air DC3`s when they won the Pollution Control contract, but does anyone remember the US registered DC4, that arrived complete with spray bars?
This was just after i left so i guess around 80/81
Thank you so much.
I used to live in Warners Bridge Chase back in the late 60s and I’m now in Surrey and am rather housebound, it would mean a lot to me.
Much obliged.
Must have known you, Raveswood Chase for me in the 60`s, just a few hundred yards away. 🙂
PeeDee no pun intended, but do you have toilets there? 🙂 🙂
Anthony Cusworth, the Airport Commandant.
wasn`t the 70`s very regimental, with Commandant`s and I remember so well Maureen the “Airport Duty Officer” in full uniform with Gold Stripes chasing us Teen Spotters around because we had Air Band Radios 🙂
WJ – Any ideas what happened to that 6ft+ Robot that was outside at the Museum?
Just had a thought, was Mike the head of engineering in Harvest Air? with a guy called Morris a director I think.
I’m starting to ramble now and could go on for hours, alot of memories flooding in.
Oh and yes I have alot of Nigel stories.
Mike was indeed Hanger Foreman, sadly he passed away last year, didn’t know Morris myself, but think you may mean Morris Jefferies.
And just a brief Nigel story,
Not sure which Leisure Sport A/C it was, but some had simulated Machine guns fitted that sounded like the real thing, and operated on some sort of gas.
Those that know Southend will know that when on short finals for 06, there’s a main road passes right on the threshold ( Eastwoodbury Lane), all I need to say is it was an early morning test flight, Nigel on short Finals, and a Unigate Milk Float passing from left to right…….Naturally he dived and hit the fire button.
I`m not sure if the milkman ever did recover 🙂
You couldn’t do that these days 🙁
Thats ok Pete I`ve been called worse ! Sorry Nick!
Pete, im sure like me you could real off a few Nigel stories, did you know Mike “The Munch” Fry, he had a big part in putting G-IDDY together.
Just bump the thread with this if i may 🙂
Thank you.
As –o-o-O-o-o– pointed out, it always amazes me that such an obscure question can be answered in such a short space of time, the forum really comes into its own. Thanks to all.
The links were particularly interested, and the picture in one was exactly as I remembered. Next time i`m near the A130 i will have a look for the new site, and Rochford Church ( St. Andrews ) is just up the road from me.
Once again many thanks.
Jamie
Great Thread for me by the way.
Lived across the road from Laddie Marmols Hanger for my first 20 years, with stints at Harvest Air with Nigel Brendish, BAF on Heralds & Viscounts, and Heavylift on the Bel-Slow, sadly now out of Aviation.
