I was just intrigued that Moggy was questioning that Her Majesty had embarked on a βMagicβ Tour π π π
That`s Air Hansons S-76A.
Think it went on to be G-BURS and is still current. I have a picture of it taken at Battersea somewhere about 18 months ago i think.
Thought we were going to play guess the chopper, no pic, guess not.
I gather departure is 13.00 ish π

REF – Can i ask where in Halesworth the cockpit is ?
Unusually for me I had to travel that way this morning, I found Halesworth ok, the museum and the war memorial, π but no cockpit, just a load of Bernard Mathews lorries π

9J-PAA was indeed offered for sale just under 2 years ago, for around Β£125,000 – fully airworthy, including spares etc.
You could even have had it flown to the UK for an additional charge !
Quite what happens to it on arrival is another matter.

That was indeed myself and someone else on this forum.
From a personal point of view as a young avionics apprentice with BAF it was my job to strip the instuments from the cockpit section in what must have been 1980. This was after BAF purchased it from BA, and it was delivered to SEN. Before all the instruments were removed, all the panels were photographed. Once all the instruments were out, full size blown up pictures of the panels were fixed in place, to make it look like real from a distance.
The aircraft was then totally used for cabin crew training.
We offered Hanningfields Β£500 for the cockpit around 2 years ago, but like everything, as soon as they realised someone was interested, they decided to up the price somewhat, and then decided not to sell at all. π
Not sure where it is now. Heres a picture in their yard 2 years ago.

They were all bald. One normally fits a wig on them you see. π
Not sure where abouts in the UK you are but these people are on my door step.

They have been around well over 25 years. I used to raid their skip as a kid, and have great fun with the damaged dummy heads ! Happy days π
According to the latest Flypast, Aces High have both these now up for sale.
Foulness
Here`s the Heinkel pic via a friend of mine, i have cropped it and excluded a lot of notes dated 1984, which list the crew, and possibly who shot it down etc. Is it the same picture as yours Steve, looks like that maybe a Mut on the wing !

Whitley_Project if you want any details from the notes written on the photo for your list, let me know, crew, serial number, markings and sqn who shot it down are all listed.
Foulness
Thanks Steve,
I don`t want to drift this thread too much, so sorry if i`m going off track.
A very good friend of mine has visited the wreck at Foulness certainly in the last 10-15 years, and i have seen some pictures of it at that time. I have to say i was very surprised it was there, and had not been recovered.
I can only presume that due to access to the island being restricted, and the fact that where it lies could be a “little dangerous” it has remained untouched?
Also i knew the owners of that Photography shop well, Stan Noyce and his wife owned it, Stan sadly passed away last year, he was a clergyman at the near by St Marys Church, and on his robes he proudly displayed his RAF medals he was awarded with during WW2.
How about the Heinkel He 111 just off Foulness Island ? I gather it was still in the mud and visable at low tide, at least it was around 10 years ago ?
Patrick,
I have sent you a PM with Johns details.

Glad you posted that update John, and thanks for the email the other day, nice to hear PV is being looked after. I am sure there are some on here that will be interested.
You have the only Carvair left in the UK, until we all club together and buy one of the last airworthy ones and bring it home π
Welcome to the forum also. π
