I think the reason why they aren’t protesting about roads is that sadly this subject of global warming is now a fashion thing driven by air-headed celebrities that require an extention on their fifteen minutes of fame.
These fashion waves have been picked up on by the pollititions that are desperatly trying to gain the majority vote and sadly it has snowballed out of proportion as the word of a pollotition is seldom reliable.
And to think that as reported some locals are supporting them by providing food and whatever else for them to keep the protest going while the jobless layabouts are sucking the life out of their tax contributions.

Oh, I agree.
It won’t have escaped your notice that the OP itself was firmly OFF the topic of commercial aviation and firmly ON name calling.
I apologise for my tuppence worth of input but thought it only fair to redress the balance a bit.
Sincerely, I doubt that you’ll get the same apology from anyone else – and that alone should tell you something…
If it is off topic then how does it re-dress the balance, surely it should be on topic to do this?.
Appologie accepted but please refrain from calling me a ‘luddite’ before you know me:rolleyes: .

I agree it should just be a discusion thread on general aviation as it could quickly turn sour for all the wrong reasons, as someone pointed out earlier in this thread air travel accounts for only 2% of the total global carbon emisions.
This is why it confuses me as to why the so called eco-mentalists pick out the civil aviation as being the sole contributor to global warming.

John.

Without thinking to hard it’s plain to see what is going to happen soon enough and this worries me.
The stupid erks will get bored and tired of sitting in a field and seing nothing come of it so they will get an idea that will guarentee disruption and get somebody’s attention, invading the runway.
We can all see where that will get them but it’s not like drastic measures have been tried in the past at LHR, IIRC didn’t a certain Mr Swampy burry himself mole like under the proposed area for a runway extension last time?.

ITN claims it was a Puma but it looks more like a Chinook to me, 3 x crew and 9 x personel, not sure a Puma can hold that many.
