This guy proves exactly why there is a high portion of Americans that are truely dumb, it summed everything up when he opened up his ‘world clock’.
Exactly what the infantryman needs when fighting of forty insurgents singlehandedly with pepper spray whilst waiting for the blackhawk to come and save his sorry ass.

Hello all,
Just a short post to publicly than Mr Eric Gray for helping me with my image, a couple of very commendable efforts where made and I thank you all for trying but Mr Gray came through with a final touch that is now hanging on my wall:D .
Many thanks,
John.
Is this a record?, three years (almost to the day) between first and second post:eek: .
John.
Carpetbagger, your pics have turned me a deeper shade of green!!,
I would one day love to go to this museum as it looks really good.
The Lightning is beautifull, although it is a Saudi Lightning she started life as an F.2 heading for RAF service when just prior to delivery was bought back by BAC and modified to F.52 standard for the ‘Magic Carpet’ contract.
Last recorded as derelict in Riyadh back in 1981 and then moved to a hanger in 1999 for restoration as part of the museum, starting life as an F.2 explains the lack of underwing stores and the four gun fit in the nose.
This airframe, on paper at least, is almost virginal as it has only 257 hours on the clock and looks in superb condition.
Regards,
John.
Interestingly the roundels on the Saudi Lightnings where first trial painted on the rear fuselage in place of the tailcode which was moved up onto the root of the tailfin.
It was not to last though and they moved back to the more traditional place on the nose, there was more change (only slight!) to come when the Crown Prince Faisel was displeased with the amount of ‘fronds’ on the palm tree.
These where changed from four to a group of eleven.
Regards,
John.
Having real problems kickstarting the brain this morning so I must ask, is the shahada the markings on the tail?.
Regards,
John.
Wish I could go there if only to see the Lightning, she looks inspiring.
John.

Hell:eek: an oval curcuit runway, bet that took some skill to get to take off speed:D 😀 .
Sorry couldn’t resist!.

How about some more non-enthusiast oriented advertising, I am from oop north and the only advertisment of flying legends is that in specialist publications like flypast.
Why not an advertisement in a national tabloid newspaper?, this would bring in those that are not specific enthusiasts but may become so once they have seen the light:p .

This is the last time I can recall her engines being run up (note the compressed nose oleo and No2 engine nozzle position), 22nd Oct 2005.
They ran one at a time due to noise restrictions and it was to test the re-heat system that had recently been repaired.
