Those Germans sure know how to make heavy rock!!.
John.
Consider it suggested!!!.

Thanks blurrkup, I was beginning to wonder where it was and when I found her I would ask for my marbles back!!!!.
Still due to work constraints I think I will stave off Duxford until the new hanger is opened, Just Hope that it does not turn out like the American Airspace hanger.

Anyone have any idea as to why the altimeter is set at such a jaunty angle?
Regards
John.
P.S. Superb pics by the way.
This is going to sound so stupid but I was at Duxford about 6 months ago and didn’t see the Sunderland, either it has been moved or was very good at playing hide and seek.
Can anyone tell me what has happened to her?.
Humble John!.
The Javelin was retired during 1965 and only one was left flying with the RAE until 1975, XH897 was used as a chase plane and a calibration platform for other new jets.
It was delivered to IWM Duxford where it now resides as a whole airframe and is in good condition, This being the only one that was flying in the UK at the time you are talking about then if you make further enquiries on this one alone then I am sure you will find out more.

John.
This one must be transgender as both were used in the same sentance.

Those who can, teach. Those who cannot, post messages on Key Publishing Aviation Forums. 🙂
Okay, what’s the best typo or grammatical error you’ve seen on or in this forum?
To those who cannot, tell us, is it Javeline or Javelin?.
John.
Thanks Kev, I will find out if we will be there on Sat/Sun and let you know.
Would be nice to have a tour…….museums that go that extra bit are always worth repeat visits hence my keeness to get to MAM (South Ferriby on the doorstep of the Humber Bridge).
Will keep one eye on the weather and one eye on my timetable and let you know tomorrow when I will be there.
Once again many thanks,
John.
I know we all don’t sleep under rocks so this might be old news!, I have just found out that the last public flying display of the PR.9’s will be at RIAT this year.

This is a pic of the only live zero-zero test of an ejection seat in the USA, The ‘pilot’ was Jim Hall and the seat rose at the rate of 150g’s per second and in that second achieved an altitude of 400ft!!.
Jim Halls declaration to all the boffins after his subsequent retrieval from a nearby lake was “I’ve been kicked in the ass harder than that…..!!!!!”

Whilst on a long drive down to Boston I tripped upon the Cranwell Aviation Heritage Centre, it was a welcome break in a boring journey and I was very impressed by what was on display for such a small establishment.
It is highly recomended and the staff were brilliant, i wish you all the best of luck in the future.

Good points, I am no expert on these airliners just sad to see it go.
Will give my spleen a rest and leave it to a grown up.
