    Looks like cannon shell damage.Were there any Spits using cannon then as I thought they had instalation dramas at that point and had pulled them off ops to be rectified.BTW awsome pic..Thanks for sharing.

    Wasn,t there a BoB Squadron leader who in his advanced age still got up and flew the odd mission??I agree you can,t keep a good man down,regardless of age.One of our volunteers is an ex WW2 Spit,Kitty,Mustang,and others, pilot.Well into his 80,s now but puts us younger blokes to shame with his work ethic.

    You would be amazed at the amount of parts that were shared between different types of British aircraft in WW2…How well off are you for drawings??Was just wondering on what stuff would be shared with a Spit.
