For a new part designed for the new Mark it would have the new Mark number. If the part remained unchanged it would have the older part number. You need to look at the evolution table of the spitfire to see what components were used..MkI to MkII,MkII to MkV then to MkIX etc..MkIV evolved into MkVI,MkVII and MkVIII.
Things are happening on the Beau front..Just not where you expect.

Would only be the updated drawings for that Mark unless an earlier drawing was found to have errors or corrected on the assembly line.
Actually the Me110 was fully gone through by Vultee.Report can be found in here..

Does it appear to be a single coat? It could well be bog standard RAF “UP10” universal grey primer.
Correct….We are just using PPG etch prime in grey for the Hawker Demon..
I doubt the turning circle would have been an issue with the Hurricane being able to out turn both machines..;)
The fuselage is superficially very similar but the part numbers seem to be all different!
Yes if a part changed in design it got a new part number to reflect the new Mark it was used in.
Firewall is .125″ asbestos millboard with a layer of .025″ ish alclad each side….. I thought I saw a puddy cat…
Stunning 🙂
Beautiful work as always Stuart :)If you would like can send you CAD drawings for the rear fuse frame formers that we did for ours. Also have done up some Spitty bits via 3D printing for sale at my online Shapeways shop. https://www.shapeways.com/shops/spit?s=12#more-products

With 3D design and printing now becoming more common would it be a feasible option in recreating Bakelite for ancient parts?
Woopsadaisy…..Anyone got a ladder?
