Assuming that the L in LF does stand for ‘Low-level’ can anyone clarify for me the airframe differences between an LF and a plain F?

None that I can think of.The wingtips were removed and capped is all I can think of.

Mismanaged I would say.Seeing the Me109,s had long range drop tanks that they used earlier in the war but never used over England..

Seeing the beach head was hotly contested it isn,t suprising the amount of planes there.
