I would think that precision machining tools would be up there, without them and the invention of the computer a great deal would not be possible.

To be fair that’s perfectly natural. People’s minds often open more as they get older.

I find YouTube idiots quite comical to be honest, especially the ones who comment on some of the aviation and music videos. Lots of comedy in there. 🙂

Absolutely true! Particularly comical are the armchair experts judging landings. Just like forums, good comments are lost in a pile of twaddle.

I know there is nothing that can be done, but it is tiresome trying to read some of what is written at times.

For me, it’s the same on Facebook. I’ve blocked people that I know fine and well can speak and write proper English, yet choose to write in short hand. Of course, when asked, I feign knowledge of their important update.

‘lol’ – there, feel better! 😮

YouTube! Well, not YouTube but the users of YouTube who write – and I use that world loosely – utter drivel in the comments. It amazes and worries me how close-minded some people are, and it seems the younger the person the worse it gets.

And why do they have to use “lol” automatically after their nonsensical absurdities? I very much doubt they are laughing out loud.

    Bah!

That is about the saddest thing I’ve seen in modern years in the aviation industry!

Why do they not have a secure hotel for MPs next to parliament? They travel into the capital should their work require it. They can stay in safety overnight, they can have a nice minibus that they can all share – perhaps a VW Caravelle.

They can have one home like everyone else, paid by themselves. They can be reimbursed for actual costs traveling into the city.

..and then I woke up. 😮

Let me start by saying, technically, I’m Scottish. I consider myself British.

I cannot see what benefit independence would bring; not for Scotland, not for Wales. It is not as if people are being oppressed or living in squaller that would warrant a separation.

As naive as it sounds, if the UK parliament was less corrupt, and had MPs representing all regions there would be no need for a Scottish Parliament or Welsh Assembly.

Why not free prescriptions for all in the UK, not just those in Scotland?

The way I see it – good or bad, England, Scotland and Wales are stronger together.

I chuckle everytime some says ‘we must provide apprenticships’.

Who’s gong to pay for them? Industry won’t.

Surely this is where the government should be able to step-in and provide more incentives for businesses to take on apprentices. I would imagine it being cheaper longer term to invest in someone getting a trade, than some leeching of the state and contributing little – except offspring.
