As has been said many times on this forum Aerobatics are a non-essential part of a ‘warbird’ display, and if it enhances safety then so be it.
Whats more Duxford has to be seen as doing something to appease public opinion stirred up by misinformed newspapers ,TV reporters and clapped out Australian dykes who happen to live near by and get paid by a liberal broadsheet to write liberal columns.
The pictures on their report seem to confirm what I said ealier, the damage does not look superficial.
Unfortunately I am told that the damage is quite serious.
The gear (not sure how much) was detached at the impact with the embankment and her ‘back seems to be broken’.This is the way it was told to me indirectly from a very good source, ie an e-mail from someone within Duxford. It sounds as if John Webb has done an incredible job of getting her down like this after first putting out his mayday call.
I doubt from this that we we see the Blenheim flying for some considerable time.
Please don’t shoot the messenger, I am telling you as it was told to me.
Doh ! or should I say Doe !
You never know where you will end up after a stag party.
Moths were off to Woburn I would imagine for the Moth rally.
I have some more photos of that series that I can post later if required. However I cannot release the source of these as I live not a spit from where Dr Kelly met his demise and I would not like to be joining him, you never know who’s who anymore.
Another form the series
Another in the series
Tell me Flood, just what is it that you drink or smoke , or both??
Agreed on Spit, but the rump from the ‘interesting’ quality scan looks somewhat more shapely than I would expect the Guvnors to be. Mind you I have been mistaken in the past.
Well, I well and truly F****D that up then, this was supposed to be the first image. So the cats well out of the bag now.
Thanks Frankvw, had a fiddle and its done the trick .

Umm, very difficult choice. My shortlist would have to include the Beaufort, Beaufighter, Fw 190, He 162, Sunderland, Typhoon or Wellington. Out of these, I guess I’d probably have to go with the He 162 just for sheer novelty value!
Can I open out this thread and ask what aircraft out of any museum you folks would like to see flying?

Joe, was going to say how observant you are, but cleary not as you missd the post above.
At last I can post from home hubloodyra.
I would have the Bristol 188, sheer beauty but above al I would have to have the TSR2 and fly it around and around Dennis Healy’s house until he was well and truly F*****g deaf!!!!!!!!!!.
Teach those bloody Wilsonites a lesson.
You would never guess that I had just picked up a copy of Ray Sturtivants ‘British research and development aircraft, seventy years at the leading edge’ would you.
Its a terrible book because every time you open it you start weeping and dribbling on the pages, ruins its !!.
