Was XF516 the Hunter at Abingdon on Sunday, if so I will look forward to seeing her again. I thought the display sunday was very reminisent of hunter displays of 30 years ago, excellent and finishing on a ‘blue note’ pass.
Too right Moggy, it is a lovely word and should be preserved by the likes of us.
I grew up near Abingdon Aerodrome and thats the way it stays, despite the swampies wanting to call it a Barracks !
The beach landing excercise was really interesting, would love to go get some photos of that. Quite a site, especially during the dusk with the tide coming in.
I looked out and listened based on Fluffy’s list as Shrivenham is not far from me and I’m probably between it and Conningsby but alas not a whisper.
Yes , Lets hope Tubby the Tuba does not start up whilst the Merlins are performing.
Sorry , should have asked what Mrs Fence plays before saying that. I’m sure its lovely whatever it is.
My Daughter is learning the Cello, the cello is the finest sounding instrument in the orchestra, however some of the noises that emminate during her practice sessions are reminisent of a cat with his tail on fire, bless her.
Manonthefence – wow the Abingdon town band, now I’ve seen and heard them and ……well …….if thats what flicks your switch its fine. I also read that there is some ‘internationally renound’ lady playing her organ….sounds delightfull, let just hope it does not interfere with the noise of the BBMF.
I wouldn’t have thought a flying 109 , Buchon or otherwise would be a wise choice at Duxford for some time, might just be too painful to bear.
Same reason no P38
Aren’t ‘Imperial’ the same people that turned a perfectly good flyable Gannet into a corroding heap??????.
Ahhhh so, you are another female among our ranks, excellent, welcome Anne.
I must confess I thought your screen name was either a play on or a very bad spelling of anorak, which of course is a name applied to us by those not understanding all things aviation.
My wife calls me an anorak, much to my annoyance.
Yes you are right , each to their own, providing of course they put the majority of their funding into the Vulcan or getting a Gannet flying ! Ooops sorry.
Ah Moggy…..
Now I see why you and you friends are not only able to fly regularly but own 8 seater exec’s. I’ll see you at Abingdon Sunday with my cheque book !!.
Phil
Thanks Roger.
Will you be coming to Coventry in an official capacity or as a paying ‘Joe public’ like me ?
Phil
Its good to know that there are a number of flyers on this forum, makes the discussion all the more credible. I am not but have dabbled a little and given a free reign and the cash would do a lot more.

For a moment when i read the heading of your post I though that you knew something that we didn’t, but alas no, more speculation.
Moggy, you must have some wealthy chums flying exec beast like the Golden eagle.
Moggy,
Did you mean to say C421 in an earlier mail or should you have said C142.
