RE: Eggbeater finale
Thats intersting, because when i got home tonight my 6 year old daughter was telling me that i should have been home earlier to see the 10 big helicopters flying over.
Nothing unusual i thought as we live close to Abingdon, Brize etc and often see groups of choppers, however she did say that they were “funny army ones”, could these have been the Wessex you talk of ?. If so, i am slightly annoyed at missing them now having flown in Wessex’s more than a few times. Ugly- yes, smelly- yes, uncomfortable -yes very much so, but has done stirling service arcoss the forces.
RE: Picture at last
Hey, don’t knock the Beverly or the flying tit, ooops sorry Argosy, i grew up with those around me, i can still hear the Bevs droning now.
Ahhh happy days.

RE: Mystery Jet Provost
Ant,
Thats interesting , because i live just 5 miles from Abingdon and have not seen it flying at all. I see the other stuff that you mentioned plus a lot of the Brize traffic (I’m at Appleton, north west of Abingdon). I did see the BAC 111 again the other day inwards to BZN,makes a change from endless VC10’s and tristars.
How long are you in the area for?

RE: Bader book
The autograph is genuine as best i can tell, i have checked it against others.I have no intention of selling it, but i wonder what price it would attract.

RE: Mystery Jet Provost
Many thanks for the info, I wonder what its future is ?
RE: Mystery Jet Provost
I’m pretty sure shes not the Kennet long legged one, i think i would have recongnised that, mind you it was some distance from the road.
Just by coincidence one of my colleagues in the office asked me this morning whether i was aware of a JP at Kidlington, he wondered if it had been taken on by CSE Aviation the resident flight training school.
Could they used something like a JP for side by side Biz jet training ?.
If i go that way in the near future i will take my bins and camera and try and solve the mystery.
Ps, Thanks for your comments about my pictures.
RE: Is the F86 to fly this year?

RE: Crowdline distance ?
I’m not sure that there is a set distance because it seems to vary from show to show. Perhaps it is determined by the show content, if you take two extremes,RIAT and Old Warden, the distance is vastly different. Maybe organisers have to put forward the crowd layout as well as the display routines to the CAA for approval and a decision is made with all of the varaibles in the equasion.Whatever the policy is ,its done for our well being.
