There you go lads. Witter on about the dog all you like without filling Historic with irrelevant and repetitive nonsense.

    Why not? It normally is.

As I said before, it is almost insulting to the memory of those that took part in Chastise that any new discussion ends up about the dog’s name. There seems to be an element that revels in an almost child-like way of being able to say naughty words and get away with it.

Anyway, according to one of the blogs, the film is in pre-production with models and CGI underway. A release date of May 2013 was mentioned (the 70th anniversary of the raid) but would seem a little ambitious.

Thank you for proving my point.

The debate should be about the crews, their heroism and sacrifice, the aircraft, the mission etc. but every time it degenerates into a debate about the dog’s name. Sad , very sad.

That must be a record. The dog’s name is brought up in only the second post in a Dambuster’s thread.
The real Dambusters would be horrified to know that every time their heroic deeds are mentioned it degenerates into a debate about the bloody dog’s name. 😡

I’m at a loss as to why this is a story at all. As Bruce said, I don’t know of any aircraft museum where anyone is allowed to sit inside the cockpits of the exhibits. I would imagine that many exhibits are not suitable to sit in for a variety of reasons. Still, it looks like it has got the outrage bus on the move again.

We watched the first one. I haven’t seen it since. I thought it was poor, predictable and lacked one simple factor for a comedy – it wasn’t funny.

That is interesting. Can’t find any trace of plans on-line though. I guess the existing 1928 hangars are to be demolished then.

    The latest from Sky movies

    Paul

The latest from Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. An western USA alien chase sort of affair. Very funny in places and far superior to both Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead. Paul himself has some great lines. There is still a tendency to resort to knob gags as someone once called them but none the worse for that.

    The Green Hornet

Rich play-boy becomes Super-hero after his father dies. Just about OK to start with but went on about half an hour too long. The main character becomes very irritating in a sort of Hong-Kong Phooey way.

    The King’s Speech

I was prepared to be disappointed due to over-hype but as it happens it was a very enjoyable film. Great stuff from Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush.
