Do you really need training to respect your work colleagues, it comes naturally surely?
It seems to me that some do indeed need training in respect.

So I take it that “respect” isn’t a word in your vocabularly? What exactly is wrong with treating fellow workers with respect? That is all that diversity training is about.
Again you’re mixing PC with health and safety training – they have nothing to do with each other.

Manners atre not handed out along political lines. At least not in the US.
Indeed. I was replying to the usual comment of PC and lefty in another post.
Although to be fair your example isn’t a great one. You quote a couple of examples from one news channel and don’t watch the other channel.
To be honest, generally people need to grow a thicker skin. You can’t please everyone, and you are on a road to ruin if you try.
That’s easy to say but if you are someone on the end of racial abuse or sectarian discrimination are you supposed to just laugh it off?

Your story has nothing to do with political correctness. It has to do with health and safety.
And just what has objections to barbaric bloodsports got to do political correctness?

Like they used to be? That would be much better wouldn’t it. That takes us back to the debate we had on Guy Gibson’s dog.
Basically PC is being polite and non-offensive to others. Is there anything wrong with that? Yes, it could be argued that it has been taken too far but many of the “political correctness gone mad” stories turn out to be urban myths, the Winterval example being one, the Baa Baa White Sheep story being another. There are many more.
If people insist on making the connection of PC and lefties then I can make the connection of right wing and rudeness.

The recycled card, paper, plastic, metal etc. is going to a brand new recycle centre at Shotton in North Wales – it isn’t going for landfill.

Typical Daily Mail inspired policy making. Our bins are emptied two-weekly with recycled stuff two weekly on the alternate weeks. It works well and is cost effective. If our bin was emptied every week it would only be half full so where would the sense be in that? We’re having another recycle bin added so there will be even less land-fill type rubbish to throw out. We try and recycle as much as possible.
Still it’s a very unusual move for the government to make a policy u-turn isn’t it?

Don’t care – might be more interested in Libya though.;)
Another misguided miltary adventure with no apparent end in sight. The politicians sadly never learn.
Then again somebody needs to protect all that capital investment that companies made. We can’t let money come to any harm can we?
