In a recent meeting in the Congress, the Congressemen voted for the Mirage 2000Br (of course to defend Embraer), but the Congress have no power to decide. In the next three weeks a meeting will take place on the national defence council to decide the winner. A report from FAB test pilots recommends the SU-35, but members of the government prefers the Gripen.
Of course, the government are looking for the offsets, even a used fighter, such as the Dutch F-16 will be a good option taking consideration of a South American scenario. But, the offsets offered by the Russians is too good to simply not consider.

A perfect scenario to test range, no. of soldiers, payload is in the amazon jungle, in the middle of nothing. The need to land in short grass airfields to give assistance to the indian tribes, carry troops based on the jungle (CIGS). Well….this tests was done by FAB comparing the C-295 and C-27 and the C-295 was selected.
