These are the best TSR-2 piccies ive seen. Very well done!!! Did you create these pics yourself? If so, you should sell them as large format prints. In the first TRS-2 pics(heavy horses), what are the fairings under the bellies of the aircraft? Fuel tanks? Recce pods? EW suite perhaps?

What I’d do is propose a Tornado II.

F/A-18F limited stealth features. After all, making a Tornado into an F-117A or F/A-22 just aint going to happen. More powerful, hi-alt capable engines usch as those used by the F/A-18E/F or Eurofighter. A bigger 400ft sq fit wing, possibly fixed. Weapons bay? A fuselage stretch woukd be a must, giving it double the fuel capacity. Have simpler stealthy air intakes. Lower the speed to M1.25-1.8 (similar to what was done to turn the B-1A into the B-1B).

Yep, but think about it. The Tornado, F/FB-111, Bucaneer, A-6 and SU-24 are all meaty heavy strikers. They’re highly spcialised and designed to do one thing: place bombs on target. Most airforces and navies want to get the “best bang for the buck”, so to speak. When budgets are tightened, out go the F-111, SU-24, and A-6 and in come the dual / multi role F/A-18E, F-15E and SU – 3X.

Of all these A/C, only the Tornado made it into a fighter, but of course was a compramise as it retained the low level atributes of its older strike predecessor.

Troo..agility does not always win the day. However, lets get real. An F-4X is still an F-4. Aerodynamically, it is still inferior to an F-15. You’d have to upgrade an F-4E’s radar, fire control, weapons systems, cockpit, etc to bring it up to AMRAAM F-15C STANDARD. And wot would be the point..?? You may as well build more Eagles and or upgrade F-15’s to F-15X standard with variable pitch engine nozzles, AESA radar, F-22 engines, advanced cockpit displys and so on.

Upgrading an F-15 is going to be a lot easier and beneficial than an F-4 anyday. The F-4’s had its time. let it rust in peace.

And the F-4X will be still outclassed by an F-15C…! F-4X may be quicker, but the Eagle will still eat it alive, esp in a dogfite.

    Here’s another one…

MARRIED WITH CHILDREN! A modern classic. You either love it or hate it.

Being repeated with double episodes on ITV2.

The Goodies with Bill Oddie, Greame Garden and Tim Brook Taylor was always a fav of mine. Shame there are no more repeats. Probably overshadowed by Monty Python.

Also Car 54 Where are you? Before you ask, I’m not old enough to have seen any of the originals, just the odd repeat. Found it very funny. Probably oversahadowed by Bilko…

I’d have to agree with Athur. Not only are the F-4’s aerodynamics not designed to take M3, but as an aliminium bird, it would melt like toffee at M3. M2.5 – M2.7, possibly…

Rover cars may be sound as far as most things are concerned. What most motoring experts agree on however, is that the models are somewhat dated in design terms.

To introduce new models costs hundreds of millions of £, money that Rover simply does not have.

    Whoah! Quick reply andrewman!!

Personally, I can’t see Rover surviving as a volume motor mfr. They simply can’t compete with Ford, Vauxhaull (GM), Nissan, Toyota, VW or Renault. Nor can they compete head to head with high end marks such as Jaguar, Mercedes or top range BMW’s.

They should have become a niche sports / utility car mfr years ago.

I saw those pics too in the “Metro”. B+W onlt though. Which of those 2 vessels would you like to spend a month on? The luxury of an ocean liner or the fast pace (and danger) of an A/C carrier?

“(Buffpuff – didn’t they have a Yorkshireman join them in the second series for a while, the bloke who played Tosh Lines from the Bill when they were redoing Ally Fraser’s big house as a retirement home. I think the bloke, Kevin someone, played a Yorkie, didn’t he?)”

Kevin Llloyd was his name methinks. Mind you, not a permanent character…

“I forgot about Auf Wiedershien….an absolute marsterpice of 6 dumb geordies. Absolute class.”

Actually 3 dumb Geordies, a dumb Brummie, a dumb Londoner, a dumb Scouser and a dumb West Countryman. Alomost the whole of England represented. All they needed were a couple of Yorkshiremen.

O, and how could I forget, the best comedy series ever, BILKO!!!!! Mind you, Police Squad is VERY funny.
