Fiat
Trouble is, “different” and simple don’t go together!

No problem, I hope they’re of interest.
If anyone is interested in getting involved with putting the old crate back into the air, please drop me a PM. There’s plenty to be done.

Victor Nosewheel Tubes – any use?
Going through our pile of stuff we’ve come across a few Victor/Vulcan nosewheel tubes. They’re still boxed and chalked, stored in the dark etc. Appear fine. These any use? Drop me a PM and I’ll talk to the boss.

PT-19
Phil has some Fairchild stuff in the shape of the lovely blue and yellow PT-19, N33870 which is currently based in Suffolk. I don’t think he has any spare tailwheel stuff but he does have a full set of technical literature and I doubt inspecting the aeroplane would be a problem. I know he was intending to be at Old Warden with it this Sunday but she needed a slight repair to the exhaust which, while done, it’s looking doubtful will be fitted in time for the weekend.

Volunteers
We’d love to have some more help looking after the PT-19 and assisting with our rebuilds, particularly anyone with tin-bashing, machining/milling experience, and experience of component inspection and overhaul procedures. We’re based in Suffolk.
Anyone assisting gets the satisfaction of breathing life back into these old things, not to mention the opportunity to fly in the Cornell and enjoy a few good team BBQ’s.
If anyone is interested drop me a PM.
Cheers,
George
Waddington
The PT-19 will be there in the static section on the Saturday. All being well she’ll be displaying at Shuttleworth on the Sunday.

Bentwaters
Above info is slightly out of date. The PT-19 Cornell will also be present in one capacity or another, weather permitting of course.
We were meant to have flown already this week for a few hours. Ho hum……

PT-19
Cornell spotted at low level over our garden this evening. Looked and sounded lovely, but then, I am slightly biased!
PT-19
I understand that the PT-19 that displayed last year will also be there in the static this year.
Here’s hoping for some good weather. Well, OK, at least no rain.

No replies?
Perhaps because its the private business of the gentleman and companies concerned and doesn’t actually have anything to do with any of us who are not connected with the aeroplane concerned.
I’m sure all will be made public when those concerned wish it to be so.

Le Ferte
Looks like a great line up.
I can’t comment highly enough on the show. I had the pleasure of going last year and it’s well worth the long drive. Will be going again this year, here’s hoping for high temperatures and a low pollen count!

Brakes
Brake pad as per the old Dunlop way of doing things, a series of shoes around the outer circumference of the pneumatic brake bag which when activated are pushed against the brake drum.

Queen Stand
I think I popped a request for one of these a while ago, alas no joy yet. We’re fitting a GQ to the Fiat so need one to allow us to start stripping the engine.
I’m not sure one of these would be any good for running a queen. Too narrow and unstable I would have thought. A good trailer chassis with good wheels and an appropriately wide wheel base suitably modified would be a much more appropriate bet IMHO.

Bump
Anyone have any ideas on this?

They’re a roller bearing
