I think Garry B has a point. What does Distiller mean by “knuckledraggers”????    🙁
This forum is fast turning into a right wing hang out. Quite unfortunate. I recall the “Distiller” previously made racial slurs about the “yellow man”. He gets away with it mostly. Unfortunate the moderators are not doing anything about it. Where is SOC?
I don’t think any combat aircraft platform can match the F-14 in terms of carrier performance until they get back to the variable geometry wings. In the long term it’d probably be best to go with a.. if it where up to me.. a delta canard with a somewhat large canard which is primarily variable geometry 🙂
Some interesting and intelligent posts..
While I was expecting something purely in the civilian sector I got assigned two projects both of which have significant military applications. Worse, one of them wants me to mainly focus on the military sales aspect of it, putting me in a tight spot as I really don’t know how to write an effective marketing plan for military products.. but well I’ll have to read up and spend some sleepless nights.
One of the products is truly revolutionary and is likely to end up on virtually all major fighter programs in the next 5 years! Not to mention UAVs, other remotely piloted vehicles and perhaps even tanks.
😀

The game is becoming increasingly more complicated and interesting. There is an ancient Chinese curse which goes something like this:
May you live in interesting times
I own a base guitar but don’t play it much. Not at all since some fellow guitarist “took” my jack in a party at my basement. Would prefer to go back to acoustic someday. Long ago, used to play the flute. I also fart sometimes. 😀

Getting back to the topic at hand, Iran’s new SLV, presuming it doesn’t fall apart like NK, how would this fit into the equation? what about just launching a huge amount of debris to try and make satellites over / near Iran disfunctional?
Referring to entire US anti-missile effort I have one question: Could Russia sustain economically and financially to produce: 50 mobile MIRV-ed “Topol-M”s, 12 “Bulava”s, 75 H-101s, 4 Tu-160s and a half of “Borey” annually for ten years to come?
I guess it all depends at what price to the economy. Personally I don’t see it making that kind of military investments unless they go back to the “old” way of governing.
What would be interesting to know is your particular choice of weapons and how you plan to deploy them and use them.
I would think it wiser to focus on conventional forces more than on MAD. Russia lags far far behind now in that area.
I think one obvious answer is the FC-1 / JF-17.
Grippen? That would be fun.
Personally I’d like to see one on a F-7PG but wonder if it can be made to fit (even with being customizable).
Could fit Mirage-2000 / Mirage III/V customers as well, if they want to modernize.
Come to think of it, it could fit in to any modernization program, if the PR is not all crap, its very customizable. Imagine German MiG-29s, or Dutch F-16s :dev2:
Well off topic to that of course is the fact that the traditional Army branches: Armor, Infantry, Artillery etc, don’t treat Army Aviation with much respect.
And Army Aviation has the Achilles heel of not being allowed to operate fixed wing aircraft. Its all messed up, they really need to rethink how CAS fits in.
How am I not being balanced?
Hehe I concede that. 😀 But I still think that passing bombing a factory in china as a likely reaction was a bit far for your usually higher standards. 😀 😀 I actually didn’t mean this thread directly.
Back on topic.
What I think General XYZ, of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards would do:
Make a preemptive infiltration of Iraq immediately. A good number of snipers and manpads. But there is evidence that this is already happening, given recent news.
Buy an old oil tanker and sink it at the sweet spot of the strait. Its believed one major tanker could block the gulf. Preferably with a CVN inside, USN has been cocky enough to be operating its CVNs once in a while from inside the Gulf.
Remove most of the valuable movable assets and disperse them as widely as possible. You’d be surprised how easy it is to move centrifuges around.
Buy S-300s or Chinese equivalents now!!!
Let me repeat this, in case you missed out:
BUY S-300s AND / OR CHINESE EQUIVALENTS NOW.
its really foolish not to. Also, if possible, borrow some FLANKERs from Venezuela.
Talk to the Syrians. Make sure they don’t sell out now.
Beg China to help. :dev2:
thanks everyone for your comments. Maybe I’ll be selling vodka for all I know 😀
