That’s the purpose of an LPI radar…you can use the radar but an enemy’s RWR doesn’t go off until you’re a lot closer or go fully active.

Is there any evidence that this will be effective against the latest rwrs? Secondly, how effective will the radar be when used in this mode? Please post some relevant links because I really would be interested in knowing more about this.

given both fighters radars are on, I can’t see why that won’t happen. But thats just a layman’s analysis.

who cares which one detects the other one first? as long as both can detect each other from 100 miles off does it matter?

Frankly, I don’t know jack **** about which one would be a better fighter.

    Hmm, I just remembered something.

The crash site is not far from Wuhu AFB in Anhui province. Actually quite near. I wonder how many people here have good recollection of the Su-30MKK and J-10 photos that had all sort of armaments displayed on the floor, R-77s, Kh-59s, KABs on the like. Wuhu is the base where the 3rd Division is located, and it has an Su-30MKK regiment along with a J-10 regiment on the making.

Take a look at this pic of the 3rd Division Su-30MKK which is probably taken in Wuhu. Not the plane itself. The other plane on the back.

That is a Tu-154, and it is a spy plane disguised as a civil airliner. This plane as it appears on this picture, is in Wuhu, Anhui

Wow thats a neat piece of analysis. However, what proves that its a spy plane disguised as an airliner than a real airliner?

    MiG-E? Could you elaborate a little ?

MiG-E is a mysterious plane that only Poitr Butowski has any real knowledge about (or so I recon) in any of the serious forums. Its probably going to look a lot like the F-23 with the exception of a single engine rather than the two that the F-23 sported. Maybe even a canard.

but you have to give us and the Americans credit.. we have made Iraq a much safer and pleasent place to live. it is nice to see how grateful the Iraqi people are after we invaded sorry i mean liberated them… it reminds me how happy the polish where in 1939 when Germany LIBERATED them !!!!!!!!!!!.

Nice post. Hope you keep posting, don’t get discouraged by the Bush cronies in here, they will take up any mindless line of thinking to say what a great bunch they are, and how much good they are doing to the world (not). Consider them to be the brainwashed populace of Orwell’s 1984. Rupert Murdoch has done a fine job of teaching them what is right and wrong 🙂

    Bhutan.

Didn’t know Bhutan had anything that can be called an airforce. Well, perhaps nominally.

I actually like 01 to 03 better than 04. I don’t care if it improve performance, 04 looks ugly.

while we are on dislikes I dislike the engine. The RD-33 sucks!!! it smokes!!! it has warts!!! It costs more per unit than an Al-31!!!!!!! 😮

I do however love the looks of the 04. Looks so much more western than the others which makes it an anomaly given that its a chinese aircraft. I like anomalies. 🙂

Thats so true. We are divided and Japan considers itself above the rest of us. I could almost say they have a Western perspective to the rest of us; lording it over the savages. Asian emigrants to Japan have almost no rights, even if they were born and bred in Japan.

The US weapons industry is fast becoming a black hole on the lines of some of the fantastic soviet projects near the end of the collapse. The main problem is that only two contractors survive. Free markets have come to an end. These mammoth bureaucratic monsters will churn out disfunctional aircraft in the near future. It is for the rest of the world to take advantage of this lag in competitiveness and get back on the race. What better a smack on the bottom than a YF-23 – J-10 – JSF blend to bring things to perspective?

Concerning the Russian card, I think its a bluff. The Pakfa isn’t the real thing ppl should be worried about. A single engined plane has many advantages concerning stealth and the kind of combat that is expected in the future (Stealth vs stealth or stealth vs. anti-stealth). For me, the real plane to watch from the Russians is the MiG-E. The mystery plane. Only one person on this or any of the forums know anything about it and he doesn’t intend to let us in on the secret. So much secrecy from the Russian industry is unexpected and means they are really cooking something in there. All that we know is a AL-41 derived engine will be used and the plane will be a delta. Perhaps along the lines of the YF-23?? who knows.

The quest for airdominance will continue. But playing fields are being evened. Firstly because the EU is pooling in together, China is expanding incredibly fast, Japan is waking up and rearing to go. Russia is going back to old soviet ways. And while all this is happening, the US is wasting its time in the sands and using up its capital to replenishing and restocking and researching on fighting terrorism, something that ends up making a military weaker in conventional warfare in the long run.

The fact that times are rapidly changing was for me, significantly illustrated by the recent downturn in world markets. The real player to watch was the Bank of Japan rather than the US treasury a shock to the old school Neocon boys for sure.

May they should inspire themselves and built this type of aircraft..

What a beauty. I’d prefer it with some pepper and salt.

tphaung, sorry to say this but you’re dreaming pal. Maybe when all versions have been produced we’d come to a number like that but thats far far away into the future and if you’re coming back from the future then I’d like to remind you that this is the year 2006, AD.
