Dont get me wrong, inside is best….but the RAFM is not the best place for her. The RAFM should have higher priorities. I believe that other commands should be given more exposure. Training Command and Coastal certainly

I don’t think that NACA were necessarily the only sections used in UK! Would have to dig out my stuff…..some 20+ years since I looked at it!!!

Our Memorial book is full of lots of Test Aircrew names, not just test pilots; FTEs, FTOs, Photographers.

David, in this case, I disagree with you! It is not head in sand, it is a very significant aircraft to Boscombe Down. Taking it away and secreting in a museum that has ‘forgotten’ other important types/commands is not so good.
Generally, I prefer aircraft under cover, but she is looked after and the context is important.

Concur that this Hurricane’s place in Hurri history is assured as is Sir Tim’s. I think it is a pity it is now staying in NZ which has lots of BoB heritage (not least, Sir Keith Park and other amazing aircrew).

It would be nice to see it more ‘Mk1’. But that would cost a lot of money and searching

Over restoring is not only limited to aviation…..go to Beltring and the jeeps are immaculate. I have a photo a jeep where a soldier is applying the numbers with a paint brush! My hunter did not have letraset type writing on its panels – more like they were applied by dipping a spider in white paint!
