Moderator or not, in this case Moggy you are just being a troll!!

Granted, my love is more for FW, but I have a special spot for Chinooks, esp BN. Evalu8ter old chap – she wont become a Mk6 ..Mk6s are new build.
Joking aside, the sight of a Chinook when you are injured or need picking up must be a godsend. A soldier being moved around Afghanistan in a Chinook must be better/safer than in a vehicle. Cannot do that with a FW!
737s are good as are C130s but they can only rival, not exceed the benefit/contribution Chinooks have made.

Indeed, they are incredibly useful, too useful to be in a museum!!
That is why I find the negative attitude by many forumites, albeit in a jokey (I hope!) fashion/not meant very weird!

Name a helicopter/aircraft type that has done more than a Chinook in the last 4 decades! Its position in aviation heritage/UK heritage is assured (as are many helios!)

Needs a Chinook – better still, one in the ‘UK’ part of the IWM. Whilst loving FW, rotorcraft are as useful (if not more so for the majority of current deployments) than FW.

Indeed, not common at all. Did you buy it? If not, why not!!

The one on my Mk1 cockpit has the original button from K9844 and its brake lever, the grip casting is Meteor (K9844’s grip, being mag alloy and hitting the ‘solid’ panel of the spit on its crash…had long since gone/corroded).

    Did you buy it Elliott?
I think it was cheap quite honestly. The modification was a pity but could have been sorted easily. I was expecting it to go for around £3k. It is an early one – no slot – so likely has ‘Dunlop Patt Appl’ on the top of it. I have only ever seen one like that before.

Thanx Steve, the K10 or R10 is near the trigger and came from what I believe is a Ju87 stick. I, too am sure, that there are others on this forum with Lufty grips!

An absolute awesome film, lots of excellent floor room rejects from the BoB film that are as good as anything you see in the BoB film. Tara F was not paid I believe or waived her fee.
The budget for the whole film was less than the cost of the Pearl harbor opening party.

DBW has amazing story, humour, sadness and the art and depth that only Czech films can, besides it tells the story of some completely unsung heroes.

Mark, both my Vulcan grips are on original Vulc bearing housings (from the Machrihanish Vulcan).
Will try and scan the drawing.

Yes Ian, I do like my formation stick!
