Hi Paul and Mark….cannot believe I missed both responses (cold and old but not bold!!).

Paul, copies would be brilliant please?

In lieu of a drawing, all I really need is the angle of bend and how long along the shaft (ooh err missus)

    cheers

    Thanx chaps.

Nimrod Mate, any help appreciated…I can obviously give you the column serial numbers.
It is such a poignant and sad episode.
Any display I do will be tasteful. In the exciting world of aviation, a reminder of the supreme sacrifice that happens brings it all home. It would be nice to put a collecting box for a suitable charity next to it.

When I first started work (in 1987) we were doing post Corporate air to air refuelling trials. I spent many a happy hour in XV227 and others.

It is down to the recipient of the ‘scrap’ items to be sensible. I know of one static project that has more ‘original’ parts than the flyer that still flies….the static owner was just really grateful to incorporate so much original parts in the static…

I think passing on of original non airworthy parts to a static source is a win win….the static is more original etc. However, I can see that an owner would not want it public that so much was not used. As with lots in life..don’t make waves then everyone is happy

There was a thread on here about this spit before and how much of it is original to the airframe
