I agree Sky High old chap, however, this movie was formative to aircraft preservation in the UK as well as helping form young aviation enthusiasts.

SY was brilliant in many other film and TV roles (probably better examples) but this HA and her talents cross over nicely.

Another interesting thing is that prior to BoB, she had little knowledge/interest and it was just another job, that is…until she met the pilots and the chaps with burns.

Miss her and her talents….celebrate her life and legacy.

It is very sad indeed. She was very important in many formative interests of mine…not just the Battle, aircraft…..when I was a lad

The Hurricane one is different: the item (Hurri) is twice the length, half the thickness of metal, a little bit diff in shape and has a proper Hurri ref No. starting with an ‘A’, would never have an AW part number.

It appears to be a nice basic panel, not original (fonts etc blah blah), about £200 worth of stuff in it. Th oil temp is incorrect for a panel with a MkVIIIC oxy reg….the rad temp is a bit ‘new’ for my liking on a panel such as this. I would redo the lettering…if it is engraved, I would retouch it with a bleached bone ‘white’!! It would also be lovely, if engraved as to letraset!

In fact, just at the time he was selling it, I think for the grand price of £75k, all I could manage at 16 was a spade grip for £30 !

They certainly were Jules! I remember when you bought it and shared ‘custody’ of it and your BoB T&N book with me, putting over on your Red trials bike to swap them over every few weeks! Great days! That was the year I bought my first spade grip (a late Spit grip) for a whopping £4.50!! (which included P&P).

I still have the clipped wing tip from TB!
