Wow….I think I shall clarify the situation so that noone is left in any doubt at all….
Moggy’s first comment was a little too general as he did not tie it down to gunsmiths/reloaders etc.
His second comment is correct…bullet heads from reputable sources will be fine (i.e. gun shops etc).
HOWEVER, there are many heads out there that have originated from crash sites etc that do have explosive or incendary or tracer heads. DeWilde are very nice but should not be touched with a barge pole. During the war the heads were colour coded, years of water/earth etc removes the colour coding. Please be careful fellow forumites…dont buy heads or get them from crash sites is my motto. Hispano heads can be well dodgy as can be WW2 German 7.62’s.
Sorry if this is teaching many to suck eggs, but I would rather not hear any more close shaves…an armour piercing 7.62 head is a scary scary thing…we do have younger readers who may not be totally au fait.
Rocketeer, she looks fantastic you should be very proud.I have to plead ignorance as to her whereabouts and availability of viewing. 😮
thanx Trumper…the old girl gets the odd outing. She is based down south (if based is the right word!). My hope is to finish the rear fuselage in time for the 75th
Zombie thread… this is a year old.

the flat leading edge may help…I have wot i think is a 1 1/2 strutter or pup which looks like it
Now that will be worth watching!
And in my experience too Fluffy, if the MoD go for something others will too. The unfortunate thing is that the MoD will lead the way with paying for development costs etc and then others will reap the rewards!!
I was surprised to see that Spade grips are now having to be replaced as they become structually unsound…pity.
The Hastings column was a complete bargain at £105!!! I missed it by 15 seconds!!! Arghhh!
I found that there were less bargains and less buyers, but it was worth my while.
The only thing that really grumped a few was the complete unfriendliness of the door guards!! granted we all knew we were not allowed in until 8am but they were a tad anal about that and not overly friendly to boot when ‘closing’ the door. The door guards are and have always been unfriendly tho’.
yep Kens got a good collection…..I decided about 3 years ago to stop collecting grips per se and just concentrate on aircraft i like. It has meant my collection is well rounded tho’ smaller now.
Dave, please watch the vid and let me know!!!
Congrats on your purchase Rocketeer! Any chance of a picture for us mere mortals??
