It is a Supermarine panel, it is not Swift (well not F7), though the centre panel is very similar, I would suggest either Attacker or Scimitar. Attacker would be a fantastic (and as VACB) says, rare, item to have well done!

There is an in depth (as only after the battle can do) article on the Russelheim? death march in issue 57. Macabre tale but not an infrequent event. Those resposible tried for war crimes after war. Searched for it but cannot find at the moment. Note to self- DO NOT LEND MAGAZINES TO FRIENDS. Will have another look as I am sure it contained an overview of the whole subject as well as this particular incident.

Yes I remember that, a B17 crew who were put on a train, an air raid meant they had to be marched thru a town. Where a load of angy people including local police etc got carried away (I believe there was some ‘official’ involvement) and they were all bopped off in a nasty way. One chap survived under the bodies and managed to get away and tell his story…

What is with the hunters cockpit off? Are they working on it or the interior.

I would say yes they are working on the interior. The seat also looks out, which is the only way to work on the interior!!

I have found that everything that is dropped in a Hunter makes it way to the most inaccessible part of the cockpit, i.e. under the seat. There must be a great big magnet under there!! 😀

Interesting discussion. I dont hunt. However, this thread shows the huge void between townies and country folk. I am lucky to be in the latter. This thread also shows the difference between two sides of the Atlantic.

Hunters in the UK do not usually take loads of photos etc. Townies dont understand the needs if the countryside. I think that provided we dont kill just for fun, i.e. eat it and it does not force the species into extinction or near extinction it is ok. Indeed, I am partial to the odd bit of venison. Which leads me to the biggest difference, I am a hypocrite, I eat meat but I do not kill it or prepare it…cos I am a hypocrite. If I was forced to kill it or visit an abbatoir, I would be a veggie no doubt.

Many townies are hypocrites too. Many country folk too. It is weird listening to some folk wingeing about the killing of a deer that will be eaten whereas they do not complain about the sometimes criminal ways our supermarket meat is procured. In Canada, I read a statistic that 30% of pigs were not properly stunned/killed before disembowelling…not nice. Having said all that, I would say that if I did hunt, I would not be posting photos of the kill…..

Aeroplane is a Super Cub, but that is still historic (ish).

Looks faked to me as the guy has his back to the plane (which he would have heard), he also has a bruise on the front of his head which is not where he was hit.
