This scheme is so inaccurate, it beggars belief!
Quite where the guys at Cosford got this scheme from is beyond me!

A Lancaster by the looks of it
Hatton – Bentwingbomber never looks silly.
Thanks for all the positive comments – I shall pass them on to the guys in Canada. Here is a last shot of the Chipmunk in flight showing off her new underwing serials:

Name dropping
Very dull………………..
Its gonna take a while to pick them all up at this rate.
There might not be very many warbirds left at Oshkosh by Saturday and Sunday since many leave Friday or on Saturday morning. If you could go earlier in the week, you’d see quite a few more WWII aircraft.
Absolutely correct, last year we had a field full of P-51’s mid week but by Saturday mid morning only four or five were left. A weekend visit to Oshkosh would give a very false impression of what the warbird scene is about at this event. Come on Wednesday/Thursday and leave before the weekend if you can.

Here she is a couple of days ago back at home in Virginia (waiting for Janie).
OK – here are a few shots showing some of the finer stencilling details, Sam Chamas will probably tell us more about them as he is in charge of doing the graphic stencils at Sky Harbour.
Probably not a lot in it weight wise as there were a few layers on it to begin with! It would not have been a good idea to have added any more weight though. The spinner is painted silver (aluminium), I will be adding some more shots of the fine details and the finished aircraft later if anyone would like to see them.
Now for the yellow stripes and roundels.
Mark, this has been hinted at and I would like to think it could happen – it would be a lot of fun, but my feeling is the UK Mustangs will stay in the UK. Hope I am proved to be wrong though.
The TFC machine has to be one of the unsung masterpieces of historic aircraft restoration. It really is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship and a credit to the organisation.
With Ford being a US company we in the UK decided to be different and delete black from the options list.
Next it was time for the more detailed bits to be applied including ‘Type D’ roundels, fuselage and wing stripes and fin flash:
