Steve,
An alternative method,
Copy image, and then right click on it, click on ‘Edit’ to open ‘Paint’, click on ‘image’ and then on ‘Stretch/skew’. To reduce the file size of an image enter a number in the ‘Horizontal’ & ‘Vertical’ boxes that is less than 100. Note the same number must be entered in each box, otherwise the image will be distorted. Click on ‘OK’ and then on ‘Save as’. Save the resized image as a jpeg and with a different name to the original image. Go to the new saved image & hover your cursor over the new image to reveal its new size. If its not small enough, delete it & try a smaller number in the two ‘Stretch/skew’ boxes.
This is the method I use to resize all my images for the forum. Hope this helps.
Geoff.

Dean,
‘K files’ or ‘K reports’ were submitted by survivors of bomber crews on the circumstances in which their aircraft were lost on operations. These can be found at the PRO (or is it TNA now?) in AIR14, piece nos 3466-3473.
I don’t know if Hendon also have the ‘K reports’.

Andy,
This plaque in the name of F/O J.G. Hanson, is still held by a relative of his. Sadly I can’t read the name of the flying school at the bottom, but according to his logbook, he trained at No 3 BFTS (26/5/43 – 6/12/43), which I think is the same place as your Great uncle.
Sorry about the poor photo, its an enlargement from a not too good original.
Geoff.

Oberfw Albert Friedemann killed, exploded under attack over South London by an RAF fighter, and fell apart over Plumstead, Welling, and Woolwich.
The forward fuselage, starboard wing, and Oberfw Friedemann’s body fell at Wickham Street, Welling, just under two miles from where I live. Albert was first buried at Bexleyheath Cemetery, just the other side of a wall from my old comprehensive school, but was reburied in the early 1960s at Cannock Chase.
Gefr Willi Krohn was also buried at Bexleyheath, having been one of the crew from a Do17 that crashed at Bexley on the 3rd November 1940.

to England where the Cri-Cri light-weight home defence fighter, powered by 2 RR Merlins is ready for its first flight. Chief test Pilot R Weaver opened up the engines to full power….
I’d certainly make an offer for this they couldn’t refuse if I ever win the Lotto jackpot, and restore it in No 131 (County of Kent) Sqn markings.
Geoff.
Have you tried the RAF Guinea Pig Club? They might know of him.
