There is a small memorial near the gate… Also the original tower is still there.

I quite agree with archieraf… a terrifying situation indeed. Glad you pulled throught it ok though.
Good for you EwenT.
Just wish that sometimes pilots would ask for help especially on start-up. We usually go out to a Tiger or the like and ask if they need help – some do some don’t but it always seems to be appreciated.
We got praised for our professionalism by an Emirates captain at the weekend (we were at Turweston for British GP). This plus the appreciation of parking an Aeronca into wind rather than in line made for the feeling of a job well done.
Pilots don’t believe us when we say we do it all for free and just the fun of it!

As an arm waver with the VAC (and occaisionally the Moth Club) and one who runs a team of marshallers… we walk aircraft when required and we do occaisionally swing a prop when required… often crews at our events carry either chocks or a passenger do swing so we don’t do it too often but I have seen a number of pilots swing their own aircraft from behind the prop… A very unnerving thing to watch no matter how “experienced” the pilot… I’ve seen an Auster make a 270 degree trun just to get off a runway. Needless to say we then walked him in.

Am I the only one who can’t see these pictures?? Feel a disagreement with this stupid machine coming on!
The restorable bits that are now in the UK were last known to be at Spanhoe… Hope that is of some use.
Lovely pictures thanks.

There was a Beech Baron converted to a car in this country… Believe it’s currently at Bruntingthorpe. Not in the same league but…
I should think the Dragon will be G-ECAN as Iolar (the Irish one) was last seen in the back of a hangar in Eire gathering dust whilst Aer Lingus sorted themselves out.
The other Raipde could also be any of the following:
Proteus G-AEML, the BEA schemed one G-AGSH or G-AKIF…
Pap Lima
Lockheed XP2V-1 Neptune c/n 26-1001/1002 BuA48238 w/o May 11, 1950 near Oyster, VA during flight test when engine fell off.

All the BB housemates are asleep all over the house. All except Nermal who is padding around looking for a new quiet warm spot to curl up in. On seeing Arm Waver, Nermal lashes out, claws extended but due to the dazzle from AW’s Hi-Viz jacket, Nermal misses and slashes the wine box. Ashley still asleep smells the wine and instictively moves under the flow of wine… Nermal saunters off curling up like a hair piece on Flood’s head…
Would be nice to see one over here in the Helicopter Museum at Weston-Super-Mare. Be good to see a pair of Canadian twin rotors in one place.
Loved the photos thanks
Now 4 dead…
Thoughts with friends and families.

Arm waver discovers that his piece of paper with the time on has stopped… Goes to Diary Room to see if he can get it fixed.
On sitting in diary chair instantly jumps up holding on to his nether regions (you know just up from France) and punts Nermal out of the seat and the room.
There was a picture here in the UK of G-SEXI (?) and G-AIDS in the same parking line. How times changed from when G-AIDS was registered…
Someone has registered G-FUKM and FCUK in this country… Not too impressed witht he first one personally.
G-DAIR was reregistered from G-BURK as the pilot was apparently getting a bit tired of the jibes…
They’ll do I suppose… I’ll have one of each in the photo please… Now where’s my mack!
