Ok – Sorry not been on this thread much but I have been watching some films (ok a few of them were old Carry-Ons but…)
Crank
An interesting film with some good action and some classically funny bits which raised a giggle or three from myself (Still can’t stop smirking at the parrot/budgie one). I enjoyed the film until the last few moments where the director seems to have lost the scale for the last fall – all of a sudden the helicopter is waaaaaay higher than it was a moment before but I suppose it was done for the story.
Chocolat
Quite good although the book was very good and the film was just ok in comparison but then again few books transfer across the same. I was disappointed with the change to the priest where he was so weak and yet in the original story he was so strong – the film gave his ‘role’ to the mayor. Not a bad film none the less.
Prime
Older woman meets younger guy and the subsequent relationship. She meets him whilst undergoing therapy as a result of her divorce through a mutual friend. A romantic comedy type of film but still a good one that was quite watchable. Glenn Close as the Jewish Psychologist is very good and has some of the best moments.
Mr. & Mrs. Smith
Again not bad. Slowish start but it picks up as it goes along. Don’t expect many laughs despite the billing in the first third of the film but as I said it picks up on those. Quite good action and slightly predictable in places but again not bad for a wet Sunday’s watching.
