    Really nice photos there Peter.
They appear to be quite nicelt positioned for photography too & not suspended from the rafters.

Just watched “The Good Dye Young” on DVD (yes I know it is on Ch.4 this afternoon.) Classic 1954 B&W British film.
Nice shots of PAA Boeing 377 Stratocruisers at Heathrow.

Been watching a load of late – Above us the Waves, We Dive at Dawn, 49th Parallel, The long and the Short and the Tall, amongst others.

    Looks like it was varied.
We had the Kittyhawk & Spitfire/Hurricane at Turweston in the sunshine! Also the Vulcan flew past the airfield.

I puchased a copy of ‘Aero Engineering Volume III’ by George Newnes Ltdfrom the 30’s at the weekend and the last section has is titled ‘THE DE HAVILLAND “FOUR ENGINED ESPRESS AIR LINER”‘ and includes rigging instructions as well as repair, maintenance instructions/guides and inspections – allthat written ‘by A. J. Brant, Service Manager, de Havilland Aircft Ltd’
A cracking book – also has info on DH.60 Moth, Dragonfly, Dragon Rapid (sic) inspection of flying boats and ‘Phillips and Powis Aeroplanes’.

Oddly enough I thought the reason they were grounded was due to a lack of gear boxes.
For some reason I recall it being the tail gear boxes.

At least I managed to see them fly.

    Unfortunate result there.

Pushing her back over via the nose would probably be the way she arrived that way up in the first place so surely any damage would already have been done?

Should think Lossie had a big crane/lifter & strops to pick her up with.

    Pobjoy is the engine.
A vintage one at that too.
Heard one on a BA Swallow once & sounded like someone had a cardboard box of bits & was shaking it!
