There is but one N7 left and she apparently belongs to the NRM. She was however recently in use on the North Norfolk Railway. – Do a google search on LNER N7 and UK pages only and some shots will come up in the listing.

I did look to see what the other shunter type was but I left the book at home this morning. Both designs date from the late 1890’s to very early 1900’s.

I think Moggy, you have hit the nail on the head. The trouble with the PFA Rally/FFF or whatever they may call it is the lack of “Joe Public” appeal. It is ok getting the enthusiasts in but they alone will no generate the necessary income.

The nation as a whole probably couldn’t give two figs about aeroplanes unless they are carting them off to their hols and even then they don’t care too much for them either. (Not helped by the NIMBY brigade either)

These were taken from a video I took on the digital camera earlier this year and although not super quality I’d thought I’d share too.

The book is well populated with underlines in all the regions so I guess the original owner got around a fair bit.

Great… So, alienate the spotters/enthusiasts/photographers AND PFA members who fly standard production aeroplanes too! :rolleyes:

You could still let PFA members in with whatever they fly. I think what is being alluded to is making the event more PFA type orientated and the other types could always be parked seperately.
We as marshallers sometimes sort the aircraft at VAC events and one or two of the others that we work. It’s not hardship.

I cannot find ‘Framlingham’ in my 1963 Combined book which means she was at very least withdrawn by then if not scrapped so that could give you dating for those photos. The data in the Combined book is dated to January 1963.

If you have the number of the “Boxy Tank” I’ll see what I can find out for you.

I envy you being able to experience steam when in daily use.
In my Combined book some of the locos underlined also have had an asterix put next to them – any idea what this may signify?
