    That interview…

Far be it from me to offer advice, but I’m thinking that use of the word “idiot” won’t help much. I suggest that you say something along the lines of while you did not apply for this specific, unexpected and most welcome position you were keen to embrace the opportunity presented as it could be mutually beneficial and you looked forward to a cross pollination of synergies and visions.:D

    I am so full of **** !
    :diablo:

    Good luck though.

being told that I am indeed an estranged and future ex husband and our kids (who I am told need a solid family base) are going to be pulled from their home (one of them has only ever known that house) because she still doesn’t know what she wants.

    USAFE C-130

I’m heading out and can’t search in detail, but I recall a few threads on the board about a USAFE ground crew member “borrowing” a C-130 from a UK base.

He crashed/was shot down somewhere in the channel (?) , I recall stories of F-100’s and maybe Javelins chasing and searching ?

sorry to be vague, Saturday morning rush with the kids going to various clubs 😮 !

They were obviously excited to be off on a trip into history and to bemoan having your museums invaded by young minds willing to be educated, indicates that maybe Mrs Lees is in the wrong job….

If they were skateboarding around the place and creating havoc then I’d agree, but as a dad with a 6 year old and a 10 year old, museums with “worksheets” are a treasure to behold. The children, learn, want to go back, want to go and do their own research when we get home. What a daft thing to say….

Today the Nimrod is retired from RAF service at Kinloss, in a controversial move this sees a maritime recconnaissance gap of at least two years before the MR.4 comes into full service.

Crazy politically motivated move (like the Chinook purchase which is probably beyond this thread) – BUT, as you say, a true cold war warrior, best of its type in the world I would say, certainly Cosford would make sense to be a home to one of the breed, I hope that we see some preserved, intact, in the UK.

What is this Blu-Ray technology..is it something to look into or is it just a passing phase

Its all personal opinion Steve. In my own view, as when DVD appeared, the uplift in quality could vary from film to film. Blu-ray can struggle on some images (clear bluy skies for example) but especially on newer films, that were made with the latest cameras etc, the image quality can be stunning. I paid £15 for Star Trek when it came out on blu-ray, on a 32 inch TV it was fantastic (even with the sound pumped through my tiny cheap stereo!)

Blu-ray players are coming down in cost now, some films benefit more from blu ray than others (IMPO), I use a Sony PS-3 to view mine on, but it also upscales via HDMI if you watch a DVD and that annoying image lag that you can get with DVD on LCD TV’s doesn’t occur.

Not sure if this helps ?

    No further comment needed.

    Indeed.

I almost, almost bought the blu-ray last week, but decided not to, the playstation upscales DVD’s quite nicely and if its too clear, then the flaws are also clearer.
