In the mid 80s I went to the cinema every week without fail, the only film I ever walked out of was George Orwells ‘1984’, you described that film with your last sentence also. I had to go into the newly opened Kentucky fried chicken to cheer myself up.

1984 was the most miserable film I had ever (tried to) watch.

Trust me Baz, “The Road” makes “1984” look like a Morcombe & Wise Christmas special, a father teaching his 10 year old son how to shoot himself is among the highlights (so he doesn’t get taken by the roving gangs) its not at all sensationalist, which probably explains why it was so chilling.

first 30 mins with regular scenes with a naked Kate Winslett (hubba hubba, please excuse the childish reference, but hubba hubba indeed :eek:…) vital to the plot and mood of the film :diablo:

it drags with bit and can be mournful (Ralph Fiennes especially) but its a very good film and worth a look if you like a sombre movie.
