Yes indeed Mr Sony still makes the best TV cameras, and some of his domestic gear ain’t bad either. I’ll be off for eight weeks on location in the new year with my rarther nice, if rarther heavy Sony HD-650 complete with (also rarther heavy) optical fibre breakout box attached on the rear end, affectionately known as ‘the backbreaker’…:eek:

All good points Mr Boyle, my main involvment with TV news over the years has been within the ‘ENG’ realm, but yes there have been plenty of times when I’ve wondered what I’m doing in a television studio at 6am… 5am… midnight… 3 in the afternoon ??? 😀

I don’t like them at all, but for heavens sake you can’t hurt them. Last summer the grass grew a bit long after some seed went in and it was Poo City, they don’t always bury it, just flick some grass back. I hated having to check the grass before the kids went out to play.

I did find that if I moved the cr*p to the hedgerow outside, and hosed/disinfected the patch where they did it, they seemed to follow their nose to where I moved the stuff to.

Unless I’m mistaken, it was the one in my post, MK210, with a scantily-clad lady all the way down the port-side engine cowling.

A Wright Field test pilot, Gus Linquist belly landed one of the MK-IX’s in Greenland while it was being flown to the UK. The underwing tanks saved the aircraft from damage. The pilot flew to the UK in a B-25 to pick up spares, while he was gone the ground crew painted a representation of an Esquire model on the cowling and the name “Hello Tolly”. The aircraft was repaired and flown on to the UK and it ended up at Boscombe Down. the internal tanks ruined the flying characteristics of the aircraft and it was scrapped (don’t know when) but the cowling was saved and hung over the bar in the officers mess. Lindquist talked his way into a combat tour and was shot down and captured on his first mission. Does the cowling survive?

any one know whats happening with the hunter, and wessex helicopter, ??, and is there a whirlwind there ???.
