Flat pack “easy to assemble” chest of drawers.

90 mins my backside:mad: Once I had drilled new holes, sourced additional screws I was able then to make my own mistakes to add to theirs 😡

still, did get out to take my little girl to a party this afternoon and listened to the cricket….. not impressive to celebrate a draw, but always worth winding up our Australian friends!

Stephen said at the start of the display over the tannoy that the CAA had decided to look into all of TFC’s aifcraft’s historys, right back to the 40s,
On a much lighter note, the day today was absolutely stonking! Best part for me has to be the first 20 or so mins, with the Spits, Buchon, FW-190, Horsemen and Stangs. The FW-190’s passes over the tank bank were just something else!

what a time for an audit !:mad::mad:

but you are right, the first display was superb and the FW-190 looked every inch a fighter, I didn’t have the best view but did it leap off into the air after a much shorter take off run than the others? It seemed to be out the blocks quickly and quite steeply as well?

BBC TV weather report half hour ago looked to indicate Sunday as being the slightly better of the two days.

I rest my case;) maybe I’m going tomorrow because I want metcheck to be right ! – will take a coat and sun cream…..”unsettled” seems to be the order of the day (s)

No idea which day to go to Legends…anybody got a reliable weather prediction?

metcheck says Saturday, BBC says neither, met office not too clever either, they can’t all be right, they could all be wrong but I’m taking my chances tomorrow.

I’d like to think that Woo would use some real metal in the film, rather than CGI, but I won’t hold my breath.

I have mixed feelings, the technology for CGI improves every day and if its used to help tell a story (IMO Peter Jackson does this very well) instead of dictating what story you are telling (IMO, George Lucus with his remakes and re-super-editions) it opens the door wide. I admit, we all have a good idea of what a Tomahawk, Lancaster, F-4U looks like and I have no idea what a real Golom would look like (Well, maybe William Hauge?:diablo:) so its easier to judge, but I liked what I saw in Flags Of Our Fathers and Letters From Iwo Jima and stil think that if used and applied to the notion of telling the story, we could see some crackers in the coming years.

The devils food is surely Asparagus. If you were to see the Jolly Green Giant in the nip, his dangily would look like Asparagus.

I now need a new keyboard I think, just spat my drink out mostly through my nose reading that !

It’s definitely a story to tell and worth telling in film I think, it will be interesting to see how it pans out, pure action film or benevolent Americans joining the war early etc?

Plus P-40’s (or Curtiss type 82 etc ?) with nose guns, nice looking in their own right so I’ll keep an eye out for this with interest.

Without being flippant, all they need is to have Spike Lee or Samuel L Jackson involved and it will be OK and they can say what they want !

I think the script writers are in a hard spot, damned if they do, damned if they don’t. The word in question is derived from one of the oldest languages around and a “mother tounge” of several languages, IMO they could/should use it, its historically accurate and in no way intended to be insulting to anybody.

Thanks for posting this, a formidable and important character in the later Cold-War period and Ford 1960s, I didn’t even know he was still with us this recently.

I agree – a very interesting character with “hands on” in many key events of the 20th Century. I’ve read a lot about his role in history over the years, his role in the Cuban Missle Crisis was very well portrayed in the film “13 Days” (which also has F-8’s up close so well worth it for that !)
