Doubt there’s many places in the world where you can get that kind of line-up! 🙂

Except on Blazing Angels ! – where else can you fly an ME-163 in defence of Pearl Harbour! :eek:Great fun though, its got BSG Junior into historic aviation more and more.

That is impressive footage ZRX61 – in “flags of our fathers” the CGI Corsairs were fine – certainly more realistic than T-6’s or other aircraft that may have been used!

There was a great thread on here about a year ago about movie “errors”, seems we all have pet gripes (mine is the single finned B-25 in Tora Tora Tora) and the badly clipped together bits of archive footage (Battle Of Midway for example) where pilots switch from TBD’s to SBD’s to TBM’s….. and does “Top Gun” count as historic now its old and the F-14’s are no more (In US terms at least)?

IIRC it did, I read a while back a very enjoyable book “agent zig zag” about Eddie Chapman, double/double agent who, among other things, worked with MI6 to produce some fake images of sabotage he was ordered to carry out at Hatfield. It was a while ago I read it, loaned it out …. you can guess the rest!

I’m sure that the Home Guard unit was mentioned in the book….

The Osprey Aircraft Of The Aces on the Gladiator shows colour artwork (not a photo) of a 112 Squadron aircraft in Greece, April 1941 shows black undersides on the port wing (I’d assume white on the other) large yellow ring on the roundel – the aircraft itsef (and others from Egypt etc shown) appear to be standard RAF two tone “home colours” and not any lighter “sand” etc.

Personally i’m not impressed. Thats not displaying an historic aircraft, its displaying an enormous ego.. and i’ve seen enough of them end in disaster over the years.!

IMO its Crass and loud – it’s like an old film star not accepting the passage of time and tarting up for film roles etc……..

Ugly looking thing but…

Design and layout sound, the Breguet Alizé looks similar and IIRC there was at least one design that competed with the Gannet that was similar looking as well?

seems to me that the port is well defended anyway……

a lot of panic going on, but last night, a guy in a people mover got stuck at the end of our road, my wife tried to go round him so as not to hang her car out onto the main road, she got stuck, as did I behind her, and somebody behind me.

without any asking, we all (with 2 passers by) dug and pushed each other out and onto our drives, perhaps no more than we should, but being a cynic, I was chuffed to see the consideration for others and the willingness to help.

I was stuck on a roundabout on the way home in the afternoon snowfall, again, a guy appeared from the car behind me to push me on – fair play to them all I say!
