On the morning of the funeral, ex wife (knowing the day) started to text me to ask me to drop kids clothes etc to her in the afternoon while the wake was ongoing…..:eek::mad:

So I dropped the stuff in the morning at the ex in-laws, and when they offered condolences, I put them straight on the niceties of life in terms of sending a message to their grandchildren at a sad time.

People never cease to amaze me…..

So, with mum having passed away, and having told the children that they lost their grandmother, the ex in-laws and ex wife have not said a word, no word of condolence, no card, no call. How spiteful and petty is that, death can bring out anger, this is where mine seems to be focusing…..

I followed a similar thread on another forum and there was a suggestion that mine clearance and rebuilding costs should be added to the “bill”……

Did a job for a large corporate company, they were well happy with the results and as they asked for the invoice before the job took place, never crossed my mind the problems I have had since. Normally I would take money up front but as they were a big company, I let it slide.:rolleyes:

Invoice went in 10th February, job done 14th/15th February, was told ‘put invoice into accounts today (10 days later) and may take up to 30 days to clear’

57 days later still nothing.:mad:

Why is it, small businesses/companies have always paid within a reasonable time span but, large ones always appear to mess you about?

You know where I work ….;) accounts payable was “offshored” a while ago and they are taking 50, 60 days etc to pay. Chasers sent to middle management like me can only be sent on to an e-mail address, we have no escalation, follow up etc – to keep our costs down. With IT support outsourced, a/c payable, HR is next and we get bogged down doing bits of everything, most of which I know nothing about. If anything like my place, its on a list somewhere awaiting payment and any chasers are given a “case number” but not much else.

The details of the loan would be a matter of record, even if the suggestion that the type 42’s were paid for with it or not. The overseas aid that is sent from the Uk is staggering, even in times of recession, late 70’s in this case, or modern day payments to India (not starting the Typhoon argument again BTW) among others, charity begining at home or not, I think it needs careful review and cutting back.
